me to i'm obsessed with games but MMORPG. I remember when i was started playing MMORPG when i was high school, i only have 3 hours of sleep everyday due to playing Rohan. Actually i was still playing Rohan right now and other games such as Final fantasy and RO.
so there is a major social shift going on and the community at large (non-gaming) is having a hard time with it so they unconsciously throw words around like 'obsessed' or 'addicted'. I could go on for a long time on the topic of what is or is not an addicted but instead I want to point out a few things about games.
They now know that the experience you have in a virtual space is very close if not identical to what you experience in real life. They do this by watching brainwaves etc. In other words your body registers it just as if its real even though your mind knows its not.
That has never happened before in history. To make the argument that this is bad is actually a hard argument to make.
Is jumping out of a plane with parachute really better than doing it virtually? If the body makes very little difference between the two then I would think from safety alone the virtual experience is better.
My point in all this? games are fun because they are fun and those who dont enjoy them are more then likely suffering from a mental block.
Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.
