ArenaNet has put a lot of time and effort into making Guild Wars 2 the most unique MMO possible. Even after its launch, they continue to try new things. Their biggest attempt being the Living Story. It certainly added to the experience, but like anything new, it had it’s faults. And like any group of gamers, we let the developers know about those faults on the forums, social media, and in game.

Players begged ArenaNet to let them wear costumes into battle, and that wish has been granted!

The journal system is amazing, I had a nerdgasm when I read about it buuuut
"Players begged ArenaNet to let them wear costumes into battle, and that wish has been granted!"
They shouldn't have scrapped the Town's Clothes, I loved adding bits and pieces to my town's clothes and switch to them with a single click. Too bad they rarely added any town's skins.

I think ArenaNet made it pretty clear that they never wanted a Gear Treadmill. True that they added ascended gear, but it's hardly a treadmill yet and I don't think it ever will be.
Better group content, something that goes beyond DPS. Something that group rolls and cannot be LOS'd.
I dunno but GA2 is lacking some how.
If you are looking for endgame go play Wildstar, the game was designed to satisfy the +1 stat crowd. Not every game needs to be design for the +1 noobs, some of us just want a game with a story that progresses and not chase after the endless carrot on the stick.
The players that left are the exactly the same player that leave all other MMO, they are they want something like WOW but not WOW but like WOW. Players leaving is part of the normal cycle. Arenanet has found their niche and you apparently are not part of it, so get over it and move on. If guild wars 2 did not die without those players before, they wont suddenly die without them now.
Even ascended gear was a big mistake and brought more hurt to the game than good.
If anything they should make ascended much more user friendly, as they just dont want to talk about how many players actually crafted any piece of ascended gear.
So yeah, i dot think you should pay attention to GW2 in that regards for years, if ever.
And for LS2 - looking forward to see how exactly will it work.
Started PC gaming in August, 2013. Games played (in order): FF14 ARR ==> Guild Wars 2 ==> Planetside 2 ==> League of Legends ==> Neverwinter (still playing)==> Back to League of Legends for a second try
[mod edit] Since the introduction of the megaservers there is NO empty zone. The largest server players play with the lowest populated ones ON THE SAME MAP. Crazy right?
It's a bit annoying because I used to fail events in order to farm stuff and now everybody wants to be the white knight >.>
Oh and to the guy saying that low amount of ppl crafted ascended, I just completed my set last night. I didn't push myself too much for and it took awhile. It was the best feeling ever even though ascended is not that better compared to exotics. And now I see people with ascended armors all over not to mention weapons I have a whole arsenal of those
I guess you are one of them bearbow rangers that are considered the noobest rangers and kicked out of every party automatically
Rangers are perfectly capable of destroying warriors 1on1 and they are capable of great support to the group. The ranger (a good one) is a powerful ally to have. I'll admit that my stunhammer warrior got its ass handed to a ranger even though I've killed rangers in the thousands. It's how you play it, just like the engineer...
Ah, but i want an answer to very specific question: how many people CRAFTED any piece of ascended. Why is it such a problem for ANet to say it? They do have that stat.
The droprate is so low at world bosses/fractals that its more likely a crafted armor when you see one IMO. And tbh I doubt we'll ever see the number you are asking for unless one of us works at ANet.
I agree with most of this except the "add a new tier of gear" grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!
This is not warcraft vertical progression piece of shit !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stop trying to make it into yet another copy of that bullshit game please.
ascended is akready time and gold consuming enough as it is, if they were to introduce yet another tier of gear many many more people will quit me included, it would be worse than the massive leavers when they introduced ascended.
They'd be crazy to do that to be honest.
Yea, well if they don't add a new tier of gear they need find another reason to keep people playing at 80 imo. It's why the game is having trouble with player retention. If they introduce a new way for Ascended gear to obtained more easily and give a couple of actual end game fights beyond what's currently offered with another tier of gear behind that, people wouldn't be complaining about a lack of end game and guilds would stick around for more than just WvW.
I understand it can be frustrating, but the game they have now has no staying power and it's a major reason they have to create the megaserver in the first place. If player retention had been higher due to having more end game activities beyond a crazy amount of grinding and farming, the mega server never would have been necessary imo.

Your arguments are terrible and seem to lack any thought behind them. Guild wars 2 has the same progblem every game has, after a while it starts losing players. We are in an Era where you can find almost any MMORPG or game that suits your particular taste and interest with more being release each passing year. The point being guild wars 2 is not the only game that is losing players, it is part of the natural cycle, just like how ESO lost 1/3 of the player on it's first month and so will wildstar. After 1.5 years playing the same game, unless there are rarely any options out there, which they aren't for players that like the way guild wars 2 is structured, we stick to the game we have.
For players that share your taste, they will find something else if guild wars 2 is not for them. Not every MMORPG needs to be dumbed down for a specific subset of gamers. Find your game and stick with it and stop trying to turn every game into a frankentein version of your terrible taste or interest.
All of my posts are either intelligent, thought provoking, funny, satirical, sarcastic or intentionally disrespectful. Take your pick.
I get banned in the forums for games I love, so lets see if I do better in the forums for games I hate.
I enjoy the serenity of not caring what your opinion is.
I don't hate much, but I hate Apple© with a passion. If Steve Jobs was alive, I would punch him in the face.
make non dos roles viable.
make pve non zerg oriented.
more / better pve endgame.

You mean to tell me that Boss Blitz is zerg oriented? Or that you can blast through the great jungle wurm? o.O
Its funny how ANet's team is trying and is showing progress in a positive light and non-players just have to come and run their mouths with what they remember since launch. The whole 30 minutes they played before they left for w/e useless reason.
and yes, every fight is " dos builds only". Its pathetic that all of anets encounters are like this, including the two you mentioned.
