Hello there people on MMORPG.com

 

I was thinking about buying into alpha with the founders pack. (dont want to here comments about the cost"

What i like in a MMO is the PvP-aspect. PvP for resources, PvP for dungeons, PvP for raids etc. What i can read about this game then it's PvP-orientated.

My question is, how much does PvP mean in this game? can you f.ex. with your friends build a little pirate camp and go out and kill steal others resources etc?

    no PVP dungeons or PVP raids.. the entire PVP is based around open world PVP(although there is a PVP arena if you like arena stuff) and a big part is naval combat.. you can join the pirate faction by killing members of your own faction which eventually will exile you to your little own pirate faction island. Which you can indeed go out and kill people/blow up ships and steal their trade packs and sell them for currency it's a huge part of the game actually..

    I would call this more limited RvR  PvP actually. Certain parts of the map are PvE only, certain parts switch back and forth between PvP and PvE for given amounts of time and the North Continent is  RvR with factions fighting for control of several areas there for the resources.

    Now you can kill people of your own faction to gain notoriety and after amassing a certain amount  of notoriety you can become a pirate but the pirates lead a hard life with being KOS to both other factions. There will be pirates guilds at launch if you think you would like it

    This is more of a griefing game than a pvp game. You will quickly realize that the pvp is mostly just  cheap no risk griefing and with in a couple of weeks the majority of players who hate being griefed will quit. I suggest you make a list because in 90% of situations the game prevents you from fighting back.

    When in doubt pass.  

     

    I think you should donate the money that you would have spent on the alpha to me.  Trust me, it's the right thing for you to do.
