NGames has announced that a new Star Trek MMO will soon be joining its Game321.com portal. The game takes place in Fluidic Space and pits Federation and Klingon factions against one another as well as each faction's effort to fend off Species 8472.
According to the press release, a wormhole is discovered as the source for entry into Fluidic Space but interstellar communications within the Federation are intercepted by the Klingons who also manage to squeak into the gateway, setting up epic space battles and more.
Players will be able to construct a variety of ships including Constitution-class, Defiant-class, the Bird of Prey and D7 starships, as well as unprecedented super starships created with the help of brand new technologies.
As of this writing, no further details have been revealed, most notably the game's name and any information about release or accompanying media in addition to the image below.
We'll keep you posted but you can also keep an eye on the NGames Game321.com portal.

If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.
LOL
Bow Chicka Wow Wow..
Given that NGames already operate around 20 browser-based MMO's, this will no doubt be just another space shooter with Star Trek skins.
Shouldn't take them more than a few months to slap together this new game from scratch, the most important part is already completed and thoroughly tested: the Cash Shop.
Was excited, saw the company make it and lost all excitement. Who knows maybe pigs will fly.
Same impression I got.
Well as others have said the company making it has a less than stellar track record.
But...Klingon boobies. I think that's something we can all get behind
*purrrrrrrrrrr*

Thank you...you beat me to the punch on that one. I think this company saw Season 9 of STO and said, "Hey, let's do Fluidic Space too! SURELY, no one will notice!". I like the idea of building new types of starships, but c'mon...they didn't even make an attempt at making an original scenario. Fluidic fecal matter, I say.
Dang, and I tried to sneak up on this thread, too. I am the first of many...the invasion fleet is on it's way! :P
I've got a feevah, and the only prescription... is more cowbell.
It's a shame that I have to agree with you. While I am certain there is a market out there for more space oriented games, I just feel with so much Star Trek History someone would come up with a more MMORPG then just a MMO.
But at the same time if I truly want a ST MMORPG I imagine it might be very expensive to develop it into a more sandbox game.
Imagine a MMORPG where you can visit all known Star Trek planets (okay perhaps not all ...lol), each with it's own themepark/sandbox feature's. But atleast make these planet explorable, doesn't have to be scalled 1:1. For example Star Wars Galaxies planets felt pretty big because of it's openess on each planet.
Anyway got very excited when I saw New Star Trek MMO Revealed at the home page. Now feel somewhat disappointed.
Then again do hope the game is fun for those who do want this type of game.
