Agree Blizzard have and money and experience they could buy all project with engine and developers ))) and keep in in right direction while other Asian developers proved to be so dumb after release ... for example like XL game with fail AA..
Blizzard is the only one who can give us a good P2p experience . Considering their "titan" fail
Fail AA ? Are you high ?
Yes ArchAge is fail !!!! I'm not going to continue this topic with some one on hype train !!!!!
Its hard to 'fail' when youre free toplay, but it isnt the greatest game ever like some people thin it is.
Is has great qualities but it doesnt go far enough and alot of the changes coming are very negative from a 'sanbox' standpoint.
Trying to force people into PvP zones isnt giving them a choise and since the game has broken mechanics it snt even an option. People simply wont do it, and since the people being forced into something they dont want to do are the major demographic of people who will actually subscribe and spend money on the game then that will eventually lead to a 'fail'. Until of course they change everything (if XL allows it) then its becomes a 'fail' on another level.
XL has already shown they have no ability ot read their player base because this game is out in other countries and it has been a disaster. it had a chance to make a hit here but even before it is released here theyre going to add the same changes here that killed it off there. Trion can say what they want but they obviously have very little say in what major changes occur. In the end this will probably be another Definace situation where Trion is left holding a bag f shit and looking to Rift money to help bail them out of another disaster.
Black desert is an action combat version of AA, it would be silly for trion to publish it.
Activision or blizzard would be great choices because BD would add diversity to their mmo catalog and they have the money to do real marketing for it. But I get it, they're the big boys and its hip to hate on the big boys.
Third Party Publishers are hard to find in the Western Market. They are mostly small/mid sized. Recently, some of the traditional publishers have tried third party publishing. Some (SOE) have already found out how hard it is. Some (Trion) are beginning to understand the difficulty. Others (EA, Blizzard/Activision, etc) are just staying out of this market. The best option is for a large publisher to buy the company (and then publish it themself) or to go with a known third party publisher, such as Aeria Games.

Same, I'd go with NCsoft or Blizzard. They have a great quality of service, but Blizzard will never be interested of publishing that anyway.
So Black Desert needs a western publisher. I made a list of gtfo publishers who shouldn't be considered. And the companies who should get the chance.
4.Tencent has already said it wanted to start doing western games. Now would be an excellent time to jump in and show these western companies how to do it.
I've never heard of Tencent but their name makes me think they'll be nickle and diming their customers.
Tencent is basically the largest publisher of games in the world (based out of China), they also have a large stake in Blizzard.
My vote goes to En Masse. They do a good job with Tera and ZMR.
Velika: City of Wheels: Among the mortal races, the humans were the only one that never built cities or great empires; a curse laid upon them by their creator, Gidd, forced them to wander as nomads for twenty centuries...

1. EA, Blizzard, Sony, Snail all deserve number 1 gtfo. They all have too much going on. And are guilty of some of the worst cash shopping practices. Or just bad with communities in general.
2. Ncsoft too many games coming and they can't even be honest.
3. Nexon Cash shops in a very sneaky way. I don't like it they're a no go.
4. Perfect World Cash shops EVERYTHING stay far far far FAR away from them Daum.
I know I'm being hard on these games. But they deserve it because I'm truly tired of pay to win. And I'm someone who could afford to do it. Doesn't mean I deserve a crown over any other gamer.
===============================================
The following are companies that should be considered. They either have good practices or good with communities.
1. Trion They have the best cash shop practices we have in the world. It's fair balanced and they care about community
2. Square-Enix I mean duh the awesome they would bring to the game is one thing. But they also have patience and wouldn't abandon it easily.
3. Funcom Like Square they wouldn't leave the project hanging. And they do a very good job immersing community. Which is where this game would have an issue.
4.Tencent has already said it wanted to start doing western games. Now would be an excellent time to jump in and show these western companies how to do it.
I've never heard of Tencent but their name makes me think they'll be nickle and diming their customers.
Tencent is one of the biggest mass media investment holding company. Someone correct me if im confusing the name but i think most mictrotransactions in games go through them (or at least for some companies like Riot and a bunch of f2p asian mmos). Also according to wikipedia its the fifth largest internet company after google, ebay, facebook, and amazon
I'd pick NCSoft, they did great with Aion & Lineage II even after F2P. However, it'll be still along way for that, as WildStar will be on the spotlight at least for the next 1-2 years. They've also bought B&S license which nobody know when it'll be released.
EnMasse is a good choice as well. As for Trion, they'll be busy with ArcheAge.

If u looked NCSoft made Aion P2W with all the cash shop items.

A. Blizzard will likely never publish a game created by another company.
B. Blizzard is reported to have a new big title MMO in works with their own IP.
C. Blizzard hosts one of the only P2P games I can think of to this date that also has a cash shop.
Everyone on every site complains about P2W games WoW is the ultimate in P2W because you can't even play without paying first off, and then on top of that if your someone who likes to get those little check marks next to the achievements like (I got all the mounts in the game) then you have to shell out some cash because they have items in their cash shop that you can't get anywhere else. Why anyone would want to see anything handled by a developer/publisher that is willing to run a Subscription/Cash Shop model is beyond me.
I was disillusioned by WoW long before all of this happened, I barely made it beyond BC, but in the couple times I've looked back at it fondly remembering the friends that I had met and the accomplishments I'd made only to realize that they all meant jack-all because I didn't want to keep sending Blizzard all my money.
That's when I came to terms with three facts about Blizzard
1. They are marketing geniuses, that can milk a profit out of anything they touch.
2. They will never make anything that is more than the minimum it takes to keep the attention of their target audience.
3. They don't actually care about their community.
So to sum it up no Blizzard should not be allowed to touch this or any other game as far as I'm concerned.
Of your for list only Trion is worth a damn. Of your against list the only redeemable one is SOE. SOE is like the spouse that keeps sleeping around, and yet you still love the games.

What makes you think Blizzard has so much going on? Not that they have ever done publishing for another studio but with the recent shuddering of Titan they really have nothing going on. Blizzard would be my #1 choice. Trion has way too much going on with ArcheAge. SOE is busy so they're obviously out.
Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!
Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!
Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!
Originally posted by yungnine WoW is the ultimate in P2W because you can't even play without paying first off,
I think I've seen everything on this site now.
If your going to quote it quote the whole sentence, it's paying to play and having a cash shop that makes me feel that way.
Beyond expansions, what forces you to use the Blizzard store in order to progress? Nothing, so you're statement is still asinine.
With that being said what makes you think that any other F2P title forces you to pay to progress? I've played Neverwinter, GW2, and TSW and nothing in their store is required to progress.

Me personally? I don't play many F2P MMOs but one of them was SWTOR and I found the restrictions overbearing. Not being able to equip looted equipment sent me off the deep end the last time.
I was more pointing out the absurdity of the comment that WoW was P2W because "you can't even play without paying first". With his asinine rational, you might as well call any game that requires you to buy anything is P2W, including ESO, WoW or GW2.

The problem with games like SWTOR and to a lesser extent DDO and LOTRO is that the games used to be subscription and the publishers themselves have little knowledge on the subject and do not know how to monetize them properly. Whereas games like GW2 or Neverwinter understand that players will buy stuff out of cash shops regardless and do not force the players to do so.

Originally posted by ikcin Well you cannot compare games like that. F2P in BDO is different from F2P in SWTOR. There will not be any restrictions in Back desert, you will play free, and you will get the full package.
You do not know that, in fact nobody knows that because the publisher likely gets a very strong voice in how things are monetized. So making such a claim prior to them getting a publisher is dubious at best.
bp2, p2p, ip ban and verified age 18+ or gtfo - publishers with the quick bang buck business model stay the hell away. This is an amazing mmo with long term potential and keeping the scrubby little kids out of it with mommy and daddy's credit cards is a must.
Any typical F2P MMO shovelware publisher would be bad. I'd give special mentions to Gpotato (worst customer service, horrible cash shop practices, etc.), Nexon (horrible cash shops), and SnailGames (horrible at translations, cash shops, etc.).
I think Perfect World would be okay. Their cash shops always had ridiculous prices and their customer service is poor, but their not as bad as the 3 above, but they at least have experience with their own IPs as developers rather than just publishers.
I think Sony Online Entertainment would make a decent publisher. Sure, they don't have the best cash shop practices (but who does), but they certainly have the budget and experience to bring Black Desert over in a decent timeframe and have it be successful.
As for the good ones mentioned on the list:
Trion would be okay, but they aren't releasing Archeage in a reasonable time frame so I imagine Black Desert would be the same way.
Square Enix doesn't handle publishing Korean IPs so I don't think that's a realistic possibility. The same goes for Funcom, who usually works as a developer and not a publisher. I honestly don't trust Funcom handling code on anything, they have good designers but their programmers and QA are lacking.
Tencent would be a very good pick. They have publishing experience with good F2P games and I can see them doing good quality work on porting Black Desert over to the west.
I hope it will be trion or sony. They got fair cash shops in their f2p games and my experience of their p2ps are good too. I dont care what the payment model will be, as long as it has a good publisher.
Not gonna bother to mention any money grabbing, multi game abusing, or just mediocre companies i'd not like to see publishing this...
Lets hope pearl abyss knows the companies as well as community.
