Fallenearth.com pimping advert space! What gives?

... I asked the question as to why the official Fallenearth site is featuring advert material on their webspace.
Why do they feel the need to pimp space on their site to outside advertisers?
Are they becoming strapped for cash?
Are they not so well funded as they want us to believe?

As an independent developer you often need a functioning product before you can get funding, it would not be particularly unusual (and certainly not sinister) if Icarus are running on a super tight budget at this point in time. Advertising isn't the problem, it's how unprofessional the Google ads look - some well done advertisements would look fine.
They've never claimed to be well funded, I seem to remember that they say they are self-funded.

I don't remember hearing them being on a super tight budget although I don't disagree with ya on that. But self-funded? That I never heard.

Hi all,
Just saw this post and thought I'd clarify the issue. The ads we put in are an experiment to see how the Google adsense program works and what impact it has on the site. We figure the best time to do testing is when it's still an "unofficial" site. Money is certainly not the issue as the ad revenue currently generated is about as significant as a freckle on my grandma's... well you get the point.
