Why would a film that makes you want to kill yourself be your fave? It's the only movie that even comes close to presenting an accurate portrayal of addiction...be it the heroin that Jim and his friends are addicted to, or the self-image/ TV desire of the mother. It also has the classic one-liner, "I know it's pretty, but I didn't take it out for air."

sid and Nancy did a damn good job in my opinion in showing the mental affects of drug addiction.
but requiem for a dream was far better and more realistic.

Fight Clube, Seven, 90% of Quentin Tarentino films (directed & Directed, not JUST produced eg, KillBill, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown all amazing) Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Snatch......too many to name but those are more or less my top films

1.LoTR (all of them) 2.Dr. Strangelove : How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb (Stanley Kubrick is awesome!) 3.Advent Children (Big fan of ff7) 4.Pulp Fiction (Say what again) 5.The Shining (Best thriller of them all cause its by Stanley Kubrick)
6. Chinatown (It's solid, cant get much better, it's good)
7. In The Mood For Love (Poetic, beautiful... dont need to understand it, just experience it)
8. A Bout de Souffle (The French make really crappy movies now because they all wish they could e like this one.)
9. The 5th Element (Sci-fi can be entertaining, funny, and creative "Holy S***")
10. Ghostbusters (I watched it a million times when i was a kid... How can you not freakin love it!)
Thats a good idea of the films I like.
And I just have to say this, no offense to anyone... But... Reqium For A Dream is one of the worst movies I have ever seen. You dont give a s*** about any of the characters and they all end up just where the film does Garbage. If you want a "really portrayal of drug use and addiction" watch a documentary try one of the HBO ones, far more gripping, real, and well entertaining. Seriously I really have never got a good idea of why ayone actually liked this film.
