Graphics remind me of torchlight 2 (a good thing).

lack of wasd movement makes me pass. I hate click to move.

will keep an eye on this to see if added. Looks great otherwise.

It just seems you don't have that much experience with these kind of games and you are argueing from a theoretical standpoint. Maybe give it a try maybe not no one forces you to play a game where winning and loosing actually really has a meaning :P

    Kind regards,

Really, you want to compare armor and weps to a ship in  a space game?  A ship that takes groups of people to make and build?

As has been said, good luck, you start off with a full loot pvp game and you know going in your target audience is very much smaller than on PVE games.

A big enough player base to last? Well we shall see.

This game sounds like it could be amazing, and what a lot of MMORPGers have been waiting for. Clearly heavily influenced by UO, but also with a lot of great sounding new features. I love things like no main auction house and needing to travel long ways to look for certain things. Also love that it's not so focused on leveling up, and is instead more focused on guilds battling for land/resources/etc.

It also sounds as though crafting will be an integral part of the game, which is awesome. Especially with full loot PvP, having a great blacksmith/armourer in your guild can provide a huge advantage and make crafting oriented players as useful as your warriors.

Having markets and trade spread across the world will incentivize many land controlling guilds to fight against griefers in an effort to ensure players will be willing to go to their towns to buy items they need.

Overall, it sounds like it could be an incredible game. Hope it lives up to the ideas laid out here!

Full pvp and full loot. They just lost me as a customer. I really don't want to be bullied every time I go into the game by a bunch of tweenies who think its funny to make everyone elses lives miserable.

Just as there are players who like these types of games and vehemently blindly support them, there will be developers of equal mindset who also like them and therefore develop them.  They pay little mind to the fact they are a minority niche group of players.  Like political affiliations that are born and molded out of differing lifestyle philosophies, it's a stubborn mindset that is nigh impossible to change.

The game you are looking for requiring no PvE completion and where you can just jump in and start mindlessly shooting at people is that way - >>>>

    ... it's called an FPS.

Quit ruining the MMORPG genre with your constant "PvE grind" whines.

    Hi Moirae,

you made two wrong assumptions. Let me sum it up quickly. We have three different kind of zones:

    • Green: No PvP possible at all (only low tier ressources)
    • Yellow: Restricted PVP possible (mid tier resources)
    • Red: PvP as much as you want with no restrictions (high tier resources)

In the yellow/restricted area attacking another player is punished with an extreme penalty, even revealing you on the minimap for a few minutes to other players (the hunter becomes the prey^^)

The idea is that in the yellow area you can be attacked but the attacker gets serious consequences. We want to have an area where PvP happens but very selective and that especially the attacker has to evaluate the situation very carefully (in particular since his position is shown on the minimap).

It also creates a special cost/reward situation cause you should be 2 or better 3 tiers above your victim and then it is questionable if attacking him is a profitable move overall, especially since you are shwon to others on the minimap as a valuable target.

And actually this led to very nice dynamics in our last test.
Do not forget there are enough red zones where you have the normal open pvp!

Regarding Full Loot two things which are important.

    1. It is faster then in your typical MMO to obtain one set of armor/weapons
    2. There is no exponential growth in the tiers
So having 3 sets of mid tier armor is better than having one high tier set.

Overall I think we have found some good ways to create a PvP game, with meaningfull consequences but were able to reduce the typical downside like griefing and zerging to a bare minimum.

Maybe just give it a try.

    Kind regards,

    Stefan
