..The Last Remnant... are the story elements in this game as you progress higher in lvl? I"ve been having some fun with it (got it on steam for like 3 bucks). My wife and I have been thinking about getting FFXIV, I know the combat is different, but I do remember it fondly from beta. Playing TLR heightened my interest, I just want to see if I can expect something close to that atmosphere in FFXIV, or should I lower my expectations a bit?

2.5 second GCD aint that bad lol
He asked if the story elements are similar to TLR, reading is hard I guess.
Anyway OP, I haven't touched TLR but I find FFXIV to be the most immersive themepark experience to date and they are constantly expanding the story with every patch.

I don't need to know of the combat I"ve played it enough to know about that:) , I was asking how deep the story goes, because SE can be masterful in that regard. Thanks either way, no harm no foul, I don't mind a warning about what others view as boring. It can be helpful.
Thanks for the answer CB, looking forward to hearing more about it, and eventually playing. As soon as I'm done a couple other games I just bought and my wife get's her copy I'll be in FFXIV.

I'd say that the story is probably one of the best in any MMO I have placed in the last 5 years. I felt connected to the story line and it feels a lot like the single player FF games do. I think the story is well written with protagonists/antagonists you will love, learn to love, and hate. As well as mystery surrounding many people.
Personally one of my favorite Final Fantasy story lines that seamlessly make their home along other great RPG games.
