Laura Genender made a trip down to Austin and visited the Lineage II studio there. During her visit she learned a lot about the upcoming Chronicle IV add-on. In the first of a three part preview, Laura looks at class and progression changes.
Chronicle 4 also added the Noblesse status. When a player has leveled their main class to 75, and at least one subclass to 75, they may complete a quest to become a Noblesse. No matter what the main/subclasses are all Noblesse receive the same bonuses.
Noblesse skills mostly cater toward PvP. They are given several mount-based attacks to perform on a Strider or Wyvern, have increased damage during sieges/clan wars, and if the Noblesse is a clan leader, they can a more fortified siege flag for attacking clans and view battle statistics on the numbers of kills/deaths for their clan members. Noblesse can also initiate powerful multiplayer attacks, harnessing the power of 4 or 8 mages of different classes to deliver deadly damage. |

Yes thank you very much! I am very happy to see this since like the above poster said, L2 is WAY different than what it started out from!

the initial review for lineage 2 was from "prelude" . If MMORPG wants its review to hold professional credibility - it'd better re-review games after every MAJOR updates.
In China, there are 49 servers and growing (2 weeks ago it was 45 servers - a while back it was 41)
Good Review!
Yeah and like others said, the main review for L2 has to be majorly updated. Sure somethings are the same, but there is over 50% more content than there was in prelude...and the official review mentions none of it.
I think you need to hire a new writer for that!
While it may be nice to have the staff here do another review for L2 I think the original one they did needs to be looked at. What were the main areas that brought the score down; Fun, RP and community. The grind and jacked up economy was what brought the fun down and the grind is still there in L2 (even with the things they have added to reduce it) and the economy is still borked. The RP factor was brought down by lack of character customization - this is still also the case. Griefers, botters and farmers were what brought the community rating down and guess what they are still there.
Not that I hate L2 or anything, I found it OK. I just think that while a lot has been added the core issues with the game are still there.
Exactly. This game will always be sub par in my eyes. Not because of the game itself, but because of the chinese botters and farmers that basically run the game on their own terms. I don't enjoy paying for a game that is run by players who gain profit by selling another company's copyrighted work. And I certainly don't pay for a game when the company allows it. I don't want to have to grind 5 times more than already have to so I can afford weapons and armor based on the prices submitted by the Asian farmer ran economy.
It's one thing to not allow NA players on Asian servers, but to allow Asians on NA servers? That's enough to make me puke. People complain about accusing all Asian, overseas players of farming and saying it's racist, but it's not - its strictly fact. Why the hell else would a foreign player want to play on NA servers? What's racist is barring us NA players from joining their servers.
I quit this game not because of the horrid grind, but because of the absolute disgust I have for the community. It's anarchy at its best. What would otherwise become an excellent game has become a breeding ground for the biggest jackasses in the online world.
It is different game indeed, I played the beta and during the launch, its a real different game now. I just joined again and cant wait for Chronicle 4 to be released I like the new additions, and the fishing part is fun to espescially for the dwarven craft and such. Very cool
That's what's sad, this game could have been much more, at least for the North American Market. I personally don't blame the farmers for the screwed up economy as much as I blame NCSoft for this. They developed a game were the grind was absolutely unacceptable, and to purchase any in game items, almost required you to contact a adena farming company to enjoy it.. They made their stand in this game, now they can live with horrible subscriber #'s.. sure, Asia loves this game, fine, I could care less, they play games for 80 hours straight then keel over and die...
that's not me.
ur reason is stupid man
what game doesn't have chinese farmers? If that's the reason why L2 is sub-par then perhaps ALL games are sub-par? (except the real crap ones no one play hence no demand for gold)
I played Lineage 2 for about 3 days, and didnt like it very much, i ran into town and rarely saw anyone, and the grinding just got old, but its not a horrible game and this update might make it better.
Awesome update it will be, but taken with a grain of salt it should also be.
Did they include anti-hacking protocols? Are they going to do away with the rampant (still) botting and afk farming?
I hate to be so harsh, but I really don't see any point to playing Lineage 2 until they at least do away with the bots and kill programs (you have no chance against an evenly matched fight where your foes are controlled by one).
Lineage 2 is my favorite MMO right now but I am not playing. First of all, I am waiting until Chronicle 4. Second, if my RL friends join back, I will join back(but might join back without them). Third, the cheaters.... This is one thing that ruins the game, it may be going down a bit but not as much as I want to see. I want to see affirmative action against this. L2 would gain twice or three times as much people as the number of cheaters if they banned all/most of the cheaters.
