Ok, well the purpose of this thread is us the gamers who've had a common interest for a long period of time to explore what else out there life could offer if the genre fails us for a prolong period.
So, imagine tomorrow all games not just MMO's as well as the internet stopped being interesting to you. Imagine you had no friends, no relatives or known parties to socialize or a job to meet some and only few thousand bucks. I'm curious to see what your "MMO experience" would advice you to do to start from scratch in the ultimate "IRL MMORPG" that majority are playing "hardcore" out there.
So, here is what I would do.
#1 Watch tv shows/series/movies I might've missed and then end up waiting on X day for the next one.
#2 Watch sports like NBA and now soccer world cup.
I'll put more after...
So, what would you do?

MAGA
Are you kidding me? There are so much entertainment out there that MMO is only getting a small portion of my time. In no particular order ...
- other types of video games
- tv shows like Games of Throne, House of Cards ....
- movies
- anime
- novels
......
Go and read Crime and Punishment; it is one of those poncy, over-long classic novels with the rare distinction of actually being fucking amazing. You know how Columbo is probably the greatest TV character ever created, you will find the inspiration here.
It will enrich you more than any mmo.
Well, besides single player games which I play more of than mmo's I ...
Practice the Classical Guitar
Writing a sort of Opera/musical mix
exercise at the gym
writing a screen play for a ghost story
I go to Operas, musicals, theater
Find awesome restaurants where I can eat
Take advantage of all that Boston (area) as to offer
I'm a movie buff so watching many movies of all genres
Finding the hidden gems that TV has to offer like Sherlock or Game of Thrones
Dating
Thinking of taking a martial art again
Elder Scrolls modding
I can always dive back into art again
Taking classes that interest me.
The world is rich and full for one that is curious!

wait .. why is it sad?
I am never sad when i find better entertainment. Switching to better entertainment is a *good* thing. I am never sad when i can have more fun.
By far the most likely reason why I'd abruptly lose interest in games and the Internet is if I found something else that I liked better and would prefer to spend my free time on to such a degree that there wasn't any time left for games or the Internet. Knowing what that "something else" was would probably answer the question right there.
TSW - AoC - Aion - WOW - EVE - Fallen Earth - Co - Rift - || XNA C# Java Development

I've got the guitar and bass sitting next to my pc I'd jam on. I've got the Kindle I'm about to fire up. I've got a garden in the back yard where I grow my own veggies. I've got about 12 stories I've started writing that these damn games keep getting in the way of. I have a a little home studio to record and produce the music I make with the aforementioned guitar and bass. I've got a deep sea rod and reel, a surf rod, and multiple light tackled rods and reels for fishing anywhere. I've got golf clubs, a basketball, a softball mitt, and a gym membership.
Mostly, though, I have a wife and kid.
I think I'd be ok. =D

Gaming is one of many hobbies I have, and it's not the most important. Here are some, in no particular order:
This world is full of so much cool shit, I have no idea how anyone could ever be bored. Even if I had no money to spend, I could get lost just reading books, exploring and learning, etc.
Seriously, there are a lot of people who need to get lives. Once you have a full-time job and a family, you don't really have time for online gaming anyhow. If I can play a game 2-3 hours a week, I'm lucky. I'm also fine with that, I have lots of other hobbies that are a lot more fun than video games and I'd rather spend time with my family and friends anyhow.
Usually, the people who are bored and desperately looking for some game to play have other problems than a bad selection of games. It's one thing if you're a kid with tons of time on your hands, it's another if you're in your 30s and still sitting in your mother's basement. That's not intended as an insult, just something that people ought to be thinking more about.

I think its possible you may have Asperger's syndrome. My brother in law has it and the social dialogue is very similar. It may explain why you seem to have difficulty relating to other people's experiences and points of view. If I am being out of line, please let me know. I am honestly just trying to understand.
I enjoy MMO's but not as much as MTB.
go meet some people before the apocalypse?
