It looks impressive. I hope they confirm it for PC because otherwise it's an automatic no for me (I just don't have a console).
But like all of these games, the proof is in the tasting.

Kind of mis an emotional connection to the world. Don't feel attracted to the super colorful world really.
Gameplay is different, not sure if good or bad, seems hard to know what the game will be like.
I am not seeing any higher potential with this game than with others. We also dont really know enough about this to even understand if there might be some unique potential.

Unless they're holding back some kind of major system mechanic they didn't explain at E3, I think it'll be a short-lived experience. Exploring planets is fun and all, but after doing it for the 20th time I think it'll lose its charm.
Only way I could see playing this game for any extended period of time is if there's a true multiplayer aspect implemented, but it seems like that goes against the core design concepts.
They talked about building your own empire briefly too. If they can implement a fun building and base management system in there, that can give people the incentive to come back.
Their voxel based world definitely allows for it, like Landmark or a game like Planet Explorers.
There are a lot of building games out there already, but realistic and expansive worlds haven't been done so much yet. Besides, the core concept of building will always appeal to a certain crowd.
I would definitely buy a game where I could build my own castle on a desert planet infested with massive sandworms and declare myself Muad'Dib in any case

Pros:
The game concept of starting on an isolated planet on the outer rim of the galaxy and traveling inward sounds great. The visuals didn't look that impressive at first, but the stylized look can sometimes work in a game's favor.
Cons:
It's unfortunate the studio got flooded, but it seems to have given the devs a slight PR boost. Too bad they are aiming for a PS4 only release at launch.
Conclusion:
I'm keeping an eye on this one, but I'm not going to buy a PS4 for this alone, and there are plenty of good space games on PC to be satisfied with right now.

It looks pretty damn interesting, but I'm not getting a PS4 for it. Will hold out until Elite (hopefully) releases by the end of the year.
