Trion has ramped up their efforts to control spammers, and it has had good affect. No where is 'owned' by anyone at this point, bots are reported or killed outright, pretty easy.
This is a very good game and I recommend it to anyone that enjoys 'learning' how to play a game with a very deep cratfing/harvesting system. The pvp is great and easy to find, there is one arena atm, but more to come.
Over all it is a great game, do not beleive the doom criers, give it a shot when it goes live/F2P.
If you want a new idea, go read an old book.
In order to be insulted, I must first value your opinion.
Im glad its happening in alpha servers, it means if Trion care about this still have time to make something about it and prepare good fighting tools to release version.
Sharp your weapons Trion, its going to be a hell of a fight .
I said it before and i'll say it again. This game is already fail, because;
it's using out dated technology that is easily abused (tab target). the game already has a bunch of botters and gold sellers.
it already failed in korea and is trying to be worth something in another market.
to my fellow MMO goers, wish you the best of luck but hackers/gold sellers spam became old and lame along time ago. any game being released 2014/post 2014 that has an alpha/beta riddled with bots is a joke.

Yup, it's certainly looking like it will be a helluva fight.
If the goldspammers are this active during ALPHA (!) when there is a full wipe coming before launch, imagine what it'll be like after launch !
Or perhaps they figured that players who'll pony-up $150 for early access to a F2P game are likely to be excellent potential customers for goldseller "services" ?
That bitterness tastes delicous If you think Archeage is the only mmo dealing with the army's of bots you havent played mmo's much do you guys ?
keep trucking as this mmo conintue's to be the best mmo in ages.... Maybe not for those carebears and themepark lovers, but any man or woman who is in love with pvp is digging this mmo.
have fun in whatever themepark you are playing man o/

AIMBOTS existed before tab-target existed.
aimbots are totally different then tab-target MMO script bots. aimbots are also MUCH easier to detect, triple A FPS games these days don't have aimbots anymore.
Goodluck trying to detect a FUD bot in AA lol, cause you just won't.
The bunch of goldsellers etc trion has "supposedly" banned the other week or w/e, was most likely fools all running the same bot based on the same code.
i hope for trions sake they can win this fight if not its dark roads ahead....
but i cant understand why this game was hacked to death with bots and exploiters in the other 2 counrtys and fell flat on its face..why do ppl think it will not be the same here? its the same thing / system and once they open the f2p gates..all bets are off imo

good day, SMILE
You have no idea what RPGs are about if you think that one of the reasons why an RPG game fails is represented by the targetting system it uses. Tab targetting is not out dated and the targetting system is practically irrelevant for the quality of an RPG.
What is a person like you even doing at an RPG forum I wonder...
i don't think you get what i'm saying. let me put it this way, look at the current trend of MMO's coming out. Notice how they're all breaking away from tab target, or at the very least have a sort of pseudo tab target system in place. ask yourself why? innovation is one reason, but there is also purpose. if WoW still has bots, the queen of tab target, and AA is heavy with bots in Alpha/beta stage, what are you expecting for the future of AA exactly?
Me, personally, I CANNOT stand bots, they ruin immersion, they totally ruin the social aspect of a game - i hate them and people that use them completely. These new MMO's coming out have ditched traditional tab target, and some developers have openly stated it's to combat the Bot problem in MMO's these days.
I wish this game, and any other MMO the best...personally I was shocked with last weeks news of all those bots in AA, but that's bad, pretty bad news JMO.
With tab target games, it's easy to run scripts & macros and have a fully working bot that can move, attack etc. In games that revolve around action combat, you cannot do that.

Of course you can. It was done in shooters in 1999. It's a bit more ambitious but not by much. In action games your client needs a more precise representation of target state to make the combat believable. So all data is there.

Even though the data is there, it's 100x more complicated to code for. And even if someone was able to do it, it would be rather crap compared to a human player. Plus it would be more like an aimbot than a traditional MMORPG bot, and would be much easier to detect - ultimately not worth the time or effort.
Bots are in all MMOs, that's part of them. If there are no bots then that's not a good sign for the MMO lol. I personally love the tab-targeting and its one of the reasons I enjoy AA. The actionstyle mmos are incredibly boring to me, but to each their own

But we're talking Alpha. There are literally hundreds of bots grinding mobs in various zones for gold. They all play the same class, a combination of damage and healing for 0 downtime. Goldsellers are obviously doing good business in Alpha right now otherwise they wouldn't be there, they're companies after all.
In release it'll be even worse, people that have played the Russian version will know. Faction chat being constantly spammed with advertisements. Doing general things in ArcheAge requires quite a bit of gold, crafting (especially after the patch) will require even more. It's not like WoW where you get your gear through instanced content and only dish out some gold for gems and enchants, everything you do in ArcheAge requires gold.
Even going out grinding mobs will cost you gold (regen food, as they removed in-combat regen in the patch).
Alpha goldselling is a preview of what is to come.
I don't think there's really any way to get rid of bots completely in MMOs. There's a market for them, people will create them. The development teams can be active in banning bots, but its a tricky situation. You don't want to ban false positives.
I said it before and i'll say it again. This game is already fail, because;
and you keep saying it and saying it and saying it.....here is a hint you have a opinion which you are entitled to no matter how wrong it is but frankly .lots of people think you are dead wrong
now enough posting on this silly board who no one really cares about..back to the game
