Yeah but his ability to steal money from his last kick start, and screw over every one that he works with! Will keep me from ever contributing to anything brad is a part of.

I love EQ and still jump on from time to time. But with Brad's ball drop of vanguard, and questionable personal habits since i wont go anywhere near him. He made a great game, attempted to make another, than just fell apart. If this new game really wants any hopes they need to get brad out of the spot light. He is not someone who should be a companies front man. He has lost too much credibility for people to get behind.

I am not an EQ fan however from everything I have heard Vanguard failure was 100% the fault of the company he was working for.

Never the less, that is not the subject of this thread.

Brad is the subject of this thread, your implying that if you love eq you will love something else this man makes.  I was interested in pantheon until he cleaned out the coffers and the game went into hibernation. Or did i miss the threads topic?

    fair enough.

I played EQ for about 6 years. However, I am actually not so sure that Brad was behind the success of EQ. I'm not certain he was the main driver behind the gameplay people liked, I have never seen him being able to explain accurately what was so much fun about EQ.

He has his own ideas of what makes an MMO fun, but he doesn't seem able to pinpoint the success behind EQ. I believe there were people who workd for SoE who were the main reason EQ was successful, and I think that because hundreds of people worked on EQ..we don't know who those people were. However, I don't think Brad was one of those people, regardless of his contributions to the game.

Maybe it wasn't even a developer, there were very good beta testers who pointed out issue after issue, I don't think one person was behind EQ and I don't think because Brad was a central figure in the franchise, he therefore was responsible for the success.

Here is a good video telling  about the begining  of Everquest and the history of the game https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mHnDSr-b02Q

I watched that video thank you it was really quite fun to watch them all talk about it. I like how Brad and Steve Clover were talking about the nursery they were working at while they were trying to make some game and then Smedley coming and employing them. I like that Steve Clover was thinking if 70,000 play we would have been pretty good.
