Dragon Age: Inquisition: The Hinterlands E3 Demo Video Released

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

During last month's E3 convention, Bioware showed a fantastic demo of Dragon Age: Inquisition that featured game play in a zone called The Hinterlands. The team has released a "wrap report" video based on that demo, a stunning 16-minutes of game play narrated by Mike Laidlaw. Check it out and let us know what you think!

    Yum.

    ~ ~

Had I the heavens' embroidered cloths, Enwrought with golden and silver light, The blue and the dim and the dark cloths Of night and light and the half light, I would spread the cloths under your feet: But I, being poor, have only my dreams; I have spread my dreams under your feet; Tread softly because you tread on my dreams.

That looked great, wish they made the battles as epic as Dragons Dogma though where I could climb up to the dragons head and start stabbing it.  Or hold on to its back while its flying around trying to get me loose.

    I like what I see.

"My Fantasy is having two men at once...

    One Cooking and One Cleaning!"

    ---------------------------

"A good man can make you feel sexy,

strong and able to take on the whole world...

    oh sorry...that's wine...wine does that..."

Been barely paying to this game since DA2 left a bad taste my mouth. That all changed after seeing this. They are stepping UP. There's no lies in that video and it looks awesome.

What if I don't want to help the Inquisition? What if I want to help the mages?

You probably get to change the rules and change the inquisitors

Looks very awesome. I have been looking forward to this one for a while!

I have been playing Divinity Original Sin for my cRPG fix until this comes out. If you liked Baldur's Gate or any of the older turn based rpgs, this is a game you should pick up from Steam. But!!!! don't get it if you aren't patient and hate reading. It took me about 3 hours of getting into the game before I had my team ready and I finally started any battles. The battles are very challenging also!

Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.

Wait there is that a Skyrim style UI for the skills and equipment.. why on earth would they do that.. The one thnig that everyone complained about in Skyrim they decided to do something very similar in this.. that makes no sense at all..

Please look at Divinity: Origional sin for a good UI...

Doesn't look like Skyrim's UI at all, more similar to DA2 UI which wasn't bad. Also a Divinity UI wouldn't work for Console.

I'm not going to lie... looks fantastic.

But it sure also looks like it's definitely going to be best played with a controller.

Try to be excellent to everyone you meet. You never know what someone else has seen or endured.

    The Inquisition =/= The Templars.

As you might have noticed, Dorian and Viviene who are both party members are mages and part of the Inquisition.

The Inquisition's goal will be to close those tears in the veil. Although I bet there'll be plenty of political manuevering as well, with the Chantry, Templars, Mages and other factions. xD

My first impression on seeing the start of the video was Skyrim. Has the look of Skyrim even if it doesn't play like it. Minimalistic UI, a game that looks like DA:I looks shouldn't be overwhelmed with hotbars, maps, and icons. The dragon fight looked very realistic, animations looked just right. What got me excited was the sight of combat spells shooting off in the distance at the dragon as it flew away.

This time right now and in the next 7-8 months is gonna be RPG heaven; playing Divinity: OS right now, DA:I coming out in 3 months, and The Witcher 3 in 7 months. The 3 games are spaced out nicely enough that there's plenty of time to finish one before the next one is released.

The devs have said that Elder Scrolls was their inspiration for DA 3, especially the open world.

    +2 for Divinity.

Sandbox means open world, non-linear gaming PERIOD!

Subscription Gaming, especially MMO gaming is a Cash grab bigger then the most P2W cash shop!

Bring Back Exploration and lengthy progression times. RPG's have always been about the Journey not the destination!!!

I just started playing this. Took me two hours just to make my two lone wolf characters lol. I may reroll if I find that boring and not do the lone wolf choice.

Anyway, to the writers, there is already a Part 2 Video here of......
