What?  Are you talking about the Alpha Pack's or is it beta keys?

I wouldn't trust an alpha pack off of eBay and you can get beta keys for free so not sure what your point is.

Well what do you expect? That's what happens when nerds slobber all over beta keys. Devs know it too, it's marketable, I remember just a couple years ago beta testers were actually reliable people.

so about a year ago I heard a story about a guy who was selling keys that were fake and paypal at the time could not do anything about it. paypal has fixed the issue but...still...careful?

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Report them to the authorities. In my state, Wisconsin, we have laws against selling and buying these virtual goods and that the money "garnered" has the same value in a court of law.

For example in 1 court case one 'gold piece' in one game could be $5, in the next, $10...etc etc.

EDIT: The above only works if he's operating out of a state that has the virtual goods laws in place. But your county FBI office can make the check real quick for you. I've actually made some cash from the FBI for tipping them off to various deals. Once the arrest has been made they literally wire you money to an account.

Thank you for clearing that up for me.

Yes, I would report them to eBay, not sure what can be done but I wouldn't buy one from there.  If I wanted alpha access I would get it from the game where I new the code was good and not from eBay where it is iffy at best.

Are people really that desperate for something new to play that they are willing to buy access to it off the back of a truck?  For god's sake, wait 2-3 months and it will be released... for free.

While I get why you are are upset, the game is going to be released f2p.  People do this all the time, I got a fake one from a guy on ebay when I was playing Secret World.  Learned my lesson  then,  however I was able to get my money back due to the correspondences I had with the seller to prove my case.

i think the best way to prevent Ahole sell key on ebay, is active the access to the game by email only and not send out key. the seller will have tough time selling email.
