People are going to dog me for saying this but: DarkFall Unholy Wars.
Its got Skill Based Advancement, FFA-PVP, Sandbox style gameplay, and a slew of other hardcore features like EvE.
Plus its just badass.

Played both and other than the sandbox connection(it's debatable whether EVE is an actual full blown sandbox) they are not similar games.Yeah, EVE is all about scheduled events... /facepalm
AOW is nothing like EVE.
I think EVE is more like a simulator.
The upcoming game Pathfinder online seems like a fantasy version of EVE though.
