Maybe buy it, but don't activate it first? Not sure it is possible in Steam...

The possibility of the universe collapsing into a singularity is higher than the birth of a perfect MMORPG.

Yes steam will give you a key to activate the game on ESO account page, So just yes you can buy now and save for later on.

Maybe this has been changed but after beta-test it wasn't possible to get the first free month that came with the game if you didn't also subscribe or buy a game card. I had to buy a 2-month game card to be able to play.

Steam will give you a code, just don't activate the game until you are ready.

When you activate your code you will be required to sign up for monthly billing, you won't be charged and you will receive your free month, but after that month you will be charged if you haven't canceled.

I think they had a high school AV club do all the coding for billing and data services. It really, really sucked for the first two months, but they had to hire some real programmers when the kids went home for summer vacation and things are running smoothly now. Billing is working and lag is almost non-existant even in big battles.

The game is fantastic, it is Dark Age of Camelot 2 for me. I would recommend it to anyone.

Huh?  All you had to do was put a valid Credit card number in.  Nothing was charged and you could cancel afterwards and still get your free first month.  If you don't have a CC because you are a kid.  I can understand that.  But, what adult doesn't at the very least have a debit card?
