I played this game the first two months and had a lot of fun.  Only quit due to no friends wanting to play it amongst a few other things.

I am thinking of returning after this past free weekend.  But should I start over 100% completely or continue my original avatar?  I was around a 40 Monk, 30 Warrior, level 10-20 at every other class including the gathering and crafting classes.  I kind of want to start over completely though if I return.  Any opinions?

Not really any point in starting over. There have been some new lower level side quests added which you can pick up even if you're a higher level. Nothing has changed with the main story until further than where you currently are anyway. So it's not like you will miss anything by continuing your old character. Seems like kind of a waste of time to start over.

You can go to the inn and watch every cut scene in the main scenario. This could get you refreshed on where your character is at and where to go next etc. You probably also have a ton of rest xp just waiting to be dug into. You can also purchase a fantasia bottle from the website if youd like to change your character's race/sex. There is also an Aesthetician (read Barber Shop) to further customize your character. And finally paid server transfers if you want to join up with people on a different sever.

Or you can reroll. Fresh starts are nice in their own way as well.

ahhhhh, yes, thanks for some ideas

I may just do that, watch the scene then change up race or something, will feel a bit like starting over then!  Which is always most fun.

you can start new stuff or level your current characters, either way should be fun. Whats most important is finding a good guild and people to talk to. ffxiv has a strong emphasis in fostering the social aspect of mmorpg, which is unheard of in this day and age.

Most memorable games: AoC(Tryanny PvP), RIFT, GW, GW2, Ragnarok Online, Aion, FFXI, FFXIV, Secret World, League of Legends (Silver II rank)
