There are a number of changes going in for publish 27. These are based on specific player requests, as well as our desire to see a much more active PVP community in space. Because of this, we're going to soften the barrier to entry, as well as the "sting" of decay for space PVP
Space PVP Decay Change:
If the bolt that destroys your ship is fired by a player, you will respawn at the appropriate space station with a full repair and no decay to your ship components.
This does not affect PVE deaths. If an AI controlled ship lands the final shot that causes your ship to explode, you will respawn as per normal and must pay for full repairs with normal decay.
Additionally, if you manage to eject safely, you will respawn with a full repair and no decay to your ship components. This is to avoid any sort of PVP exploits related to leaving your target disabled.
Space PVP damage change:
Space PVP damage has been decreased slightly. There was already a modifier in place, it has been lowered. This is to decrease the likelihood of 1-shot kills.

And don't forget... I am forcing you to read this!
If they really wanted to make space combat PvP better they would change the hit boxes of some of the ships. As it is now, the only viable craft in pvp are the Bellubub and the JSF. If you show up in PvP with an X-Wing you'll be toast before you can even turn around because A) the hit box on an X-Wing is about twice that of a JSF and b) the turn rate on the JSF is vastly superrior.
So, everyone fly's the same two ships in PvP. And that gets a bit boring.

So... "Let's encourage PVP in space by making it so that it has absolutely no consequence" is now the strategy ah? Why don't they make them into bumper cars while they are at it?! And let's not forget phasing out crafters (shipwrights in this case) a little more by taking away customers so that now people that do PVE need a shipwrights services.
And they say this game isn't dumbing down?!

Shooting directly at the cross hair's doesn't work. Becaue of server lag, you must trail the cross hairs by some margin, usually about 1/3rd the distance between the ship and the lead indicating cross hairs. Because of that, hit box is very important.
The supposed ban on JSF or Bellubub is something I've never heard of. I flew on Wanderhome tho, not Chalstra. As far as I've seen, it wouldn't matter anyway becaue once you're in deep space it's a free for all. So if your player event shows up and there are already several ppl in deep space they are gonna own you quick if your in an X-Wing.

It has been a top 10 request from pilots for a long time now, this change should be considered a feedback change. Shipwrights will suffer little because heh, no one really PvP'ed in space much before anyway due to the large penalty costs and the 1-hit deaths.
