How much instancing is in Archeage?

cmorris975cmorris975 Member UncommonPosts: 207

I am really not a fan of games with instancing.  For me, they break up the game world too much and make it feel more more like a "game" than a "world" to participate in.  Are there a lot of instances in Archeage?  I am curious especially with the dungeons.

Thanks!

I only played till lvl 25 and I encountered 1 instance. So... not that much instancing going on, and I didn't miss it.

On that regard AA will suit you very well :)

haven´t seen any instancing yet... except from an Island that is like a big market (can´t remember its name)

The rest of the world is seamless...open...no loging screens whatsoever...

I know there are some dungeons though....but the feeling is than it´s an open world.

Depend what kind of instances you are asking. there isnt World zone instances in any way, 3 continents and a huge sea completed open.

If you asking instance dugeons with trash mobs and boss's, theres a few, someone allready mentioned 12.

The only instancing so far are the dungeons, mirage island (gilda star shop) and the pvp arena. The rest of the world is totally open, seas, continents, houses all of it is wide open with no flight ceilings. If you see a mountain there is a VERY good chance you can reach the top and fly from it. Oceans get darker the deeper you go until its so dark and the currents are so strong you can get lost and turned around not sure which way is up.

I've played most of the alpha and 1 level 50 and 1 level 37 so I've been around the game. Feel free to msg me with any questions about it.

although not instanced it does take you on somewhat of a prescribed path.

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Albeit an optional path, but a path nonetheless.

AA can be a very linear or a very nonlinear game depending on how you choose to play it.

The castle sieges are instanced also

Only the attacking and defending guilds can participate

And there is a 100 vs 100 limit

AA is pretty much a seamless world, which is very nice.  It's amazing how many excuses devs make that they are limited in tech, so they don't make a seamless world, but AA has proven them wrong.

The siege is not instanced.  People who are not involved can run in, but they will be killed by the barrier.
