My laptop has an AMD Radeon 7970M graphics card, its never had issues until a couple months ago. Back then I had little time to play games and have now found the ample time needed. Yet upon booting up most games I find after 5-10 minutes my screen starts going completely crazy. I'm not too sure what the problem is (not very fantastic in this area of computers) perhaps its screen tearing to a major degree - im not sure.
anyways I don't know if there is anyway to fix such an issue - but it would be great if I could figure out a solution.

Your video card is likely permanently damaged from overheating. Blowing the dust out might not fix it. If your card had a warranty, now is the time to check to see if you can still return it.
Edit: I missed that it was a laptop. Yeah, you should definitely return it if possible. If not, I hope you've learned your lesson about gaming with a laptop. That lesson is to ensure the laptop stays cool or get a desktop if you want to play games.
Your card is over heating.
If it takes 10 minutes of gaming for this to happen then you may be able to clean the dust out of your laptop and "fix" it.
Either way clean the dust out. If that fixes it then look at a way to cool your laptop while gaming.
That sounds like a classic case of overheating. Gaming laptops are fundamentally a proposition of too much heat in too little space, so you have to be very careful about overheating.
If you're blocking any vents at all--on any side of the laptop, including the bottom--that's the problem. Dissipating heat requires airflow, and if you're blocking vents, air doesn't move and simply gets hotter until things overheat. If you're not blocking any vents, you might want to see if it's dusty and clean it out if so. This can be something of a pain in a laptop, though.
