I have read up and watched some footage, I haven't experienced game play first hand though. Was hoping for some pointers from the community here. I will be diving in tonight when I get home, I feel like it's almost like diving in blindly though because from what I have seen there is a certain way to appreciate this game and all that's going on. So if you have any tips they would be greatly appreciated by the Archeage noobs like myself. Thanks in advance.

If you're looking for the quickest way to level-up, following the quest trail from the starter spawn-in onwards is about the best thing to do.
Quests with green markers have to be done in sequence, as they form part of the main storyline. They also reward "Gilda Stars" which are needed to buy patterns (single-use blueprints) for various cool things ingame.
On a new server, the quests are about the only viable way of getting new gear, because mobs don't drop any, only coin (99% of the time anyways).
There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

Looks like play around with some farming and do some exploring.
Thanks for the pointers, I have some goals set now and will give it a go. Not going to concern myself with pvp yet.
