Hey folks, for the past several years I've tried a lot of new MMO"s, but they really didn't stick because I was still having fun with my usual rotation of MMO's I played. I was back and forth between WoW and EQ2 for years, until SWTOR came out. Then I added that to my fun. I would play WoW for 6 months or so, then go to SWTOR, then to EQ2 and so on. My last stint has been with SWTOR, and now I started to move back to EQ2.
Well, excited to get back into EQ2, a lore and world I love, I loaded it up, and started playing. While this game will always hold my heart, I just couldn't get back into it. I have the 10 year veteran rewards just to show that I've been loyal, but this time, sadly I couldn't do it. I figured, well, maybe just skip this time with Eq2 and come back later, next in line is WoW.
I started to load up WoW, then just had this sinking feeling in my stomach, I just can't do MoP anymore. I've not liked it at all.
Which brings me here. My tried and true MMO"s havne't gave me my fix this time. Needing something else. I was really thinking about Wildstar or ESO. I've tried both just to check them out, but knowing at the time they wouldn't pull my from my main 3. I liked so much about ESO, my only complaint was that it felt like it took forever to do anything. Wildstar, well, I think I played maybe 45mins and didn't give it a chance at all, I just wanted to see it.
So brings me to my title. Could anyone suggest an MMO for me? How is ESO and Wildstar atm? Is there another? that's good? Below I'll list a few MMO's I've tried.
Thanks.
MMO's I've tried and not liked in the past 4 years or so:
-Guild Wars 2 (hated the combat)
-Secret World (didn't like anything about it)
-Lord of the Rings (didn't really like anything about the game other than the lore)
-Rift (hated the animations of that game, I know this sounds funny considering the EQ2 animations don't bother me)
-Eve Online (liked it, played 3 years, but just couldn't get back into it after taking a break)
-FFXIV (combat was way to slow, however I liked the rest of the game a lot, just couldn't get past combat)

My vote goes to ESO in this case. And their next update looks promising as well. (I've been waiting for that game to get some more customization)
You could also give WoW another go once WoD comes out and you get that boost to level 90 that'll take you past MoP which you seem to hate.

Yeah, I think that fits the bill too. SWTOR was the first non-fantasy MMO I've played other than Eve, but that setting is so different I don't count it. I love SWTOR still, but like i said, after about 6 month, I need a break. ANyways, saying that because WildStar isn't Fantasy obviously, so that is a turn off right form the get go.
Yeah, MoP, didn't like it. If MoP was a game unto itself, I think it would be fine. But for my mind to mix WoW and MoP, I just had problems with it. I like the Monk class a lot though, though I wish it was more FFXIV monk then ancient chinese monk.

What is coming with the next update if you dont' mind me asking?

Well, since you hated GW2s combat you should probably stay clear of Wildstar. They are far from identical but most people I know that liked one liked the other and the same if they hated one they didn't liked the other as well.
ESO is worth a try, but it might be worth to wait another month or 2, The game is still getting polished up. Too bad Vanguard closed down, it had a lot in common with EQ2.
Armor dyes for one thing, and all sorts of guild stuff if I'm not mistaken. I believe there's a video of it somewhere on the frontpage of this site. (If it isn't gone by now)

Armor Dyes,Guild Tabards and The Justice System are being implemented soon.
Rainbows, Snowflakes, Kittens, and your very own Panda pet are in the works.
Just kidding about the rainbows, snowflakes and kittens.
Seeing as how they just gave everyone who ordered the Imperial edition from Steam an in game Dog pet, the Panda might happen...
If you're tired of the usual, you're probably never heard of this hidden gem.
