Video is not appropriate for some users on You Tube.
But you can watch it from the ESO site link no probs. Its a video about Tabards and You Tube gives it a PG rating or something!

Just one more of the utter dissapointments with Guild Wars 2.
How long since release of Guild Wars 2 now? And we still haven't gotten cloaks. /shrug
i have to absolutely agree with this. I love GW2, but it was a lame excuse to discard cloaks completely because they clip on the charr models... Just make a different one for charrs. They are different creatures so it makes sense to have different looking cloak. I still hope they add it.
As for ESO, this update and the remaining features mentioned on their panel are taking the game in the right direction. I hope they do it well. I will probably shell out 15 to try out this update for a month.
And cloaks.
Ok, so while everyone is running around in their new colors, did they do anything to fix the broken mechanics so everyone doesn't have to run around with an AOE staff?
This to me is the worse part about a subscription based title! You re-sub and start playing only to remember why you quit a game in the first place. You play a couple hours or a few days and you quit again! B2P to me is the way to go and it should be the standard imho.
Death is nothing to us, since when we are, Death has not come, and when death has come, we are not.
There has been a lot of learning going on these 3 1/2 months. At this point, people in cloth are who I look for. I punish them, my arrow and daggers are like a hot knife through butter. Stam builds are doing much better. PvE idk, some say it's still dress and staff or go home. Some swear they have stam builds that are competitive.
Who knows after tomorrows patch. Soft caps are being raised significantly which will allow for wider ranges of stat allocations. I have suspicion we might here some clothie qq after they get oneshot from a pure stam build. We'll see though. Fun times
Dat next-gen customization doe...
Exactly, ZOS is parading a "content" patch with the introductions of a dye system and a guild tabard system, like really?! Games frickin' release with those systems on day 1 and i don't get why people are ok with this .
This is a content patch? Where's the content? 2 new hard modes and ???? Everybody will come back, dye their gear and look at their shiny new tabard, then what? Go do the new campaigns i guess, for little to no reward.
I'm still at VR5 and i just can't be bothered to keep leveling because i'm so bored and i'm stuck in a another alliance realm doing rehashed content, i'm just bored and i want more to do . This veteran rank stuff is pure crap, we need this champion system implemented quickly. I absolutely LOVED 1-50, but once i found out that i had to go through AD and Ebon heart 1-50 content, i just couldn't do it, it was way to boring and i didn't even feel as if i was anymore powerful at VR5 then i was VR1.
Another question. How does crafted gear compare at level cap?
Name the last MMO that launched with Guild tabards and dyes? Same for the poster who mentioned WoW, as I said this was the common in old school, today it is a big deal. You will constantly be told on this site how MMOs are getting better, they are not. Bringing this in shows ESO understands that levelling and achievements are not solely what MMOs are about.
You pretty much hit the nail on the head and what is wrong with MMO Development these days!
They used to take 3 to 5 years to create an MMO and released it with actual content and features.
Now they need to push a new MMO out of the door within 2 years, to start cash grabbing People with a shallow game and let them pay for the devs to start adding all the missing features later on, that used to be friggin´ standard! /facepalm!
Read the patch notes and you will begin to see some of the many changes to implement each patch for balance. This patch brings some biggies in order to resolve some fundamental flaws to balance. ZOS admits to taking small steps toward balance and not harsh sweeping changes. Consider it the exact opposite of Blizzard who takes 2 years to make changes then re-engineers their entire game so not only will your class power change but nearly every underlying mechanic behind the class.
I don't see the light armor + staff situation being resolved entirely with this patch though. Changes to zerg balls and ill conceived passives (i.e. Cycle of Life) need changes as well in the future.
You stay sassy!
Problem is if this wasn't a Sub game, these Tabards and stuff like it would be put in a cash shop. It's been so long since I played a sub only MMORPG, I feel kinda weird seeing something and knowing I can get it in game, through game-play. Weird in a good way mind you. I so hope the sub remains and no actual cash-shop makes it's way into the game.

On par, if not better. I run two crafted sets.
I know. It's really no different than those who bought founders' packs for Archeage. Those AA players spent $150 to play and test the game as features were added/changed. ESO players spent $60 ($80 for imperial) for the box plus $15 a month for four months so far, which is another $60 for a total of $120 ($140 for imperial edition) to play and test the game as features are being added/changed.
Are these two games telling future devs it's ok to "release" a non-complete game and still charge for it? I know this will probably make some people mad for this being said, but seriously. How many features have been changed/improved and how many features have been promised for the future that many people believe should have been in since day one? Not only for an MMO, but for an Elder Scrolls game as well.
I can understand Zenimax Media Inc wanting to see a return in their investment sooner rather than later. However, I wonder how much better the game would have been received if they would have a taken a loan or something to hold themselves over financially for another 6 months or more. Then use that time for more beta testing in order to ship a more complete product with all of these features and tweaks put into place.

I'm actually starting to give some consideration here. Primary reason......For me now, an MMO that doesn't run Micro-Transactions/Cash Shops has HUGE redeeming factors just in that alone. After reading on ArcheAge, I want nothing more ever to do with Massively Monetized Online Role Playing Games.
I'd been tossing around this or going back to XIV.
There was a few soft cap changes that make melee a tad bit better and brought down spell power some also so its getting there but not their yet. Also heavy armor did get a buff today where every 2 seconds you are hit in combat you regain about 20 magicka and stamina if you are 7 pieces in based on your health . This helps a lot for tanks and some builds but its still magicka based and it seems resto staff is still the leader because of the flat 10% bonus to damage passive based on health.
For pve the only thing this is going to effect is trial runs for speed , pvp melee is lethal to a skilled player. Two handed has gap closers dual snares etc. I cannot even begin to count the kills I get on any class running a resto staff or destruction staff and light armor and with the new c/c immunity timer that went in tonight its more skill , no more spamming dark talons or any of the other stun lock garbage. Overall this was a great patch with nothing really in it to dislike other than the no brain skill spammers that run around stun locking everyone.
Hands down the best themepark mmo on the market for me, I could care less about digging up a house and planting a garden as long as pvp is fun and balanced. I think a lot of gamers here should give it a try if they enjoy pvp similiar to warhammer and DAOC that havent tried it yet.
