There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

I remember a lot of posters on this forum giving WS a 9 and of course 10. Though I doubt they will show their support now for tha t #, I would have to agree with you on your 7.5.
To me the game wasn't bad, it just wasn't for me at this time in its current state.

Yeah i know these question will get subjective answers. But i kind of want to see what the communities thinks.
Because why not, i suppose.
OP asked for state of the game not population, and I know you don't think population = quality

I was totally in love with this game when I started it. Then the cracks started to show poor optimization, boring questing and terrible pvp just to name a few. I cancelled after my free month and uninstalled the game. This game from the ground up has some serious design issues that frankly in my opinion cannot be fixed through content patches. I would avoid this game for now.
Just a warning there are like 3 posters that post in this forum on a regular basis that are the games white knights. They will be here shortly to defend and disprove all the negative feedback this game is getting.
Current state of the game I'd say they are in trouble for sure most of my gaming community that went to Wildstar which was around 75 players pretty much all quit the game for now some are still holding out hope that they will add some more accessible group content for endgame.
Oh by the way there is nothing hard about this game the dungeons which everyone complains about are easy and the raid attunement is just a time sink nothing hard about it really. Maybe this game is losing people because well, it is just plain boring and people are tired of the gear treadmill themeparks.
wildstar in a nutshell
some servers are empty
5.5. Maybe a 6 once the FPS issues are ironed out. 8-9 when it goes F2P / adds content for casual players / fixes combat / PvP.
It has the potential to be one of the best games out there, but it's plagued with bugs and low population at the moment due to the extreme focus on hardcore raiding and lengthy attunement processes. They have already said no more attunements, so they are stepping the right direction to add some casual content to the game and try to fill the servers back up.

If you mention rose tinted glasses, you better be referring to Mitch Hedberg.
I've basically stopped playing. I've had an ongoing path bug that has had a ticket open for more than a week now. Population is definitely low in the lower areas. The amount of tasks is just annoying. Every time I think I have finished the area, I get a new task popup (and the quests are pretty boring to boot). So, as of now I really have no intention of playing any more.
I do not enjoy the PVP at all any more. I just don't get what this game is about any more. If they wanted it to be a raid-only game why bother creating any of the PVE zones or PVP BGs? Just have the game start you raiding from level 1. I really don't get it.
As a sidenote, I hope the professional reviewers are seeing this. It's time that they stop reviewing these games at launch and give them incredibly high score when they really have not seen most of the problems that eventually arise. Really ridiculous if you ask me.
I leveled to 50 then pretty much quit because of the gated content..
My friend who was banana's about the game just canceled, said it was a ghost town.

The game is an 8 IMO...
I recently just switched back to ESO, not because I don't like WS or because it's gated content or any reason like that, I actually like that in a game. I stopped because I don't know if I have the time to put into raiding at this point and the cartoony graphics, I just can't get over them. The game has a lot of potential and I loved the combat system but the darn graphics kill me.
More games like WS please, just leave out the cartoony graphics please.
I am of the same opinion. I would even give it a 9 but...I do not feel attached to my avatar. At all. So despite the fact that I see very few flaws in the game from a functional point of view - I love the combat, the design of the fights etc - it has close to zero stickiness with me.
I think it is the graphics and lore that takes out the immersion for me. And once again I actually like the funny quests and cut scenes as well as the graphics - but it creates zero attachment unfortunately.
