The issue isn't with how fast you can do chores. It's that there are chores to do.

The majority of people who were looking at AA (people tired of quest grinding and other themepark bullshit) don't WANT to do quest grinding. And this game FORCES you to do it as your primary PvE content, which is the opposite of sandbox design.

Forces you? You can't just mob grind?

The game discourages it, and you'd be doing it alone because everyone else will just be quest grinding. It's not nearly as fast, profitable, or encouraged by game design as quest grinding.

KaBoom ...sorry bud you're away off on this , not sure if you just don't know anything about the game or you are deliberately trying to spread misinformation with an agenda but anything you do solo in this game is much better with a group

It only takes a few days to get to 50 for the 1st time, if you level with friends it goes even faster.

    Everything you do gives exp.

You can burn labor to make hereafter stones wich gives around 5000 expirience, or stay on your farm and gain exp or chop tree's in the wild for exp or murder people in pvp for exp.

You reach end level realy fast compared to any other mmo.

But the thing is unlike most other mmo's the game opens up at level 27 / 30 wich is done in 1 or 2 days.

By then you have a clipper and a large farm and if you have a guild you can start having TONS of fun.

This isnt a themepark where you grind levels and then need to follow the carrot on a stick to gear up to enter a dungeon or raid or farm 2 million honor to be competitive.

With friends you already have the fun part unlocked and co do tons of stuff with each other.

Or you can listen to the themepark boys and think its a themepark that offers nothing and you need to be level 50 and geared up in mythic gear (takes around 6months + if you solo craft) before the fun starts.

I rate this game realy high as it stomps any western mmo into the ground without any efford.

Even the questing is more fun then in the western themeparks and the dungeons are also fun to do, but the vore of this game is the focus on farming / housing / exploring / fishing / and aboe all kicking ass in pvp.

What are the death penalties? What do I drop if I die in pvp?

If a mob kills you then you lose XP. If you die in pvp and are carrying a trade pack, you lose that to the player

Right now the early levels you pretty much have to do quests if you dont' want to level slow and you don't have any high level friends.

After level 30 I personally crafted on the alpha and did fishing to get to 50.  It went by pretty quickly.

Right now on the alpha/beta servers the fastest route from 40-50 whether you're solo or grouped is killing mobs.

The fastest 1-50 on the alpha/beta right now is probably killing mobs as well, but you'd need a high level friend to help you before level 40.

That may or may not all change on release.
