"Guild" Wars 2

So with the recent outburst of "Guild" content in other games, do you think ANET will finally start throwing out more Guild content? I mean look at the name of the game, and guilds are pretty much pointless in this game. When do you think the focus on Guilds will finally reach ANET's plate? The competition is making moves.

"The Guild Wars were a series of military conflicts between the humankingdoms of the northern continent between 1013 and 1070 AE. When considered separately, they are known as the FirstSecond, and Third Guild Wars."

The "Guild Wars" come from the lore, a series of conflict between humans 250 years ago(uisng Gw2 current timeline).

With that out of the way, yes, i do belive they could spice things up in the guild department, right now jumping puzzles and bounties are not that interesting.

    now: GW2 (11 80s).
    Dark Souls 2.
    future: Mount&Blade 2 BannerLord.
    "Bro, do your even fractal?"
Recommends: Guild Wars 2, Dark Souls, Mount&Blade: Warband, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

I wouldn't say guilds are pointless...

They are required for easy access to top tier gear (ascended accessories). Some guilds also make it possible to do large scale, complex events like Tequatl and the Evolved Jungle Worm.

That said, I do agree that the addition of guild halls is way past due; I thought it would be a priority for the first 6 months. However, simply saying that guilds are pointless without any constructive criticisms is hardly productive.

Outside of guild halls, bounties, guild rushes, and guild puzzles, what would you like to see done in GW2 on the guild side? I know that GvG is a popular answer.

"As you read these words, a release is seven days or less away or has just happened within the last seven days— those are now the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria."...Guild Wars 2

The least "guild required" content the best imo.

While that is true, the lore was created because Guild Wars was created to be a PvP/GvG game.

It morphed into a much more oriented PvE game.

Guild Wars 2 is called that way because Guild Wars was a successful and recognizable game (and one of Guild Wars sell points was "the content is yours forever while the game runs once you buy the box").

I certainly wouldn't mind some more guild oriented content. Being able to challenge a guild to a GvG would be nice. Heck, just consentual dueling in the open world would be cool.
