What kind of player should avoid playing AA?

Add to your list hardcore pvpers as the official forums is pointing out so far in alpha and beta the majority of players are avoiding pvp and areas where you're open to it so AA fails to even deliver what it says it's the main selling point of the game.

    pve = bad

    pvp = bad

no clue who will play this...maybe the brainless that payed $150 for alpha access

Exactly. But, will they have time to gank? I mean, if all casual crafters and PVE players - the main group of players that are bringing mats and gear into an MMO's economy - are gone, the 'hardcore' guys will be spending a good amount of time picking flowers and grinding PvE.

They'll shift to new 'harcore' activities for 'serious' gamers, like:

    • actually fighting PVP players
    • hardcore logging ops
    • hardcore crafting sessions
    • hardcore seed planting
    • hardcore mob farming

I can see this game doing well in the East, but over here? Based on many of the posts I have seen from its advocates, my money is on the 'hardcore' running off the casuals and then decide the game sucks once they have to live with the consequence of their actions.

There isn't a "right" or "wrong" way to play, if you want to use a screwdriver to put nails into wood, have at it, simply don't complain when the guy next to you with the hammer is doing it much better and easier. - Allein

The kind of player that values combat that takes any sort of skill versus the best macro.

They might as well call this game the never ending sub since the whole reason I would have gone Patron is for housing, yet unlike a usual P2P game you would have to keep this running unless you want to lose your housing spot for when you return.

He said that, anyone who doesnt want to group. This game isnt for solo players. Get in a guild and you wont have LP problems.

Or play a true AAA P2P game and you'll never have to worry about the BS restraints.  Buying this game is like paying taxes...they never go away and you never quite get what you paid for.

I think that you make an excellent point.  From what I've read and seen during my beta weekend, I think a huge aspect of the game revolves around a "hardcore"  crafting system....PvE content at its hardcore finest.   Even some of the hobbies like writing a sheet of music is time intensive and laborious.   Heck, after watching a YouTube video of how to write music in ArcheAge, I blew off steam playing a bit of Schubert on my grand piano at home.  More relaxing than what I was watching, lol.   Yet I'm intrigued that you can write music and play it ala LOTRO.   Many of the other things, if you want to master them, require oddles of time.....crafting related.   I'm rather curious as to how the hardcore PvP is going to blend with the hardcore crafting, hobbies, etc.

Like you said, drive off the serious crafters, the casuals, the PvEers, you will be left with a very, very bland game.  I'm curious as to how it will do in the west.    I love much of what I saw in AA but I'm worried as well.    Some of the attitudes in the AA community concern me and at the point in my life, prefer something a bit more positive.    Perhaps I will continue to play ESO questing until my eyes bleed and hope that someday a game will be developed that gives me the sandbox things I crave.  Or perhaps I will take the plunge and play AA.  It will be interesting to see how the game fares.  I wish them the best.  Trion has a big challenge on its hands with this game me thinks.

    Very insulting post, OP.

I believe the OP was saying (or should have said) that those who expect every MMO they play to be like WoW will not like ArchAge because it's significantly different. It's true. WoW players don't bother me at all but I hate the ones who show up in every MMO and are like "This game should have [feature] because WoW has it!"

You forgot a pretty big one:

The player that likes an interesting virtual world

How does this work out in your head? Your guild mates will give you their LP? Because as far as i know, lp doesnt regenerate faster because now you are in a guild...

So even if you are in fact in a guild, unless you want to be fed certain materials or fed crafted gear, it wont affect your personnal progression. Ok even if you enjoy being in a guild, it doesnt mean that you cant enjoy crafting your own sh1t and farming your own things but this game wont allow you.

So are you saying that because this game is restrictive on what you can and cannot do and by which amount, people are forced to be in a guild? Because that sounds like a bad excuse for a terrible design. So because of the way this game restrict single account members, i wont be able to experience all the game has to offer even if i pay sub?

    How.....can.....you.....keep......trying.....to....excuse....this.....poor....game....mechanics.....cash....grab.....BS.

    Fail logic, Fail.

Get in a guild, you wont be able to do it all but you will get there in due time.... LOL! Good god. Its not even a matter of wanting or not to be in a guild or interact with people, its  matter of playing the way you want and experience what you want when you WANT....

you do realize that 99% of people that say this are trolls?
No different from the people that say "WoW was the first MMORPG."

How about asking guildies to craft stuff if they have lot's of LPs? No? Too hard? That's what he meant..

Not being able to farm or craft, that's such a blatant lie.

Not pursuing and excluding are two entirely different things.  I don't pursue Victoria's Secret models but I am sure as hell not hanging a sign on my door telling to them to keep out.

Hell w/ the game itself. Would be a lot easier on folks if TRION/XL just got rid of LP pots in the CS.

Anyone who has been watching the mmos of the past 6-3 years should avoid it, because its the same shit over and over.

You have not reached end game yet so dont go accuse someone of lying or even argue about something you dont even know. While the truth is, at end game it is VERY possible to spend all of your lp (5000) within 30 min, if you have all the mats to craft the items... I would even put my hand in fire on youtube that i can spend all lp within 5-10 minutes.

Crafting end game stuff requires over 500 lp each try... Make that 10-20 items and your done for the day.

    Stop spreading false bullsh1t.

Once all of your lp is spent. You pay for pots either in gold or with real money or you GTFO. Thats how this game works, admit it, be fine with it and go back to playing this cash crab game.

You are losing liberty and freedom in your daily game and you dont even know it. People are amazing.

5% of 7 billion is 350 million. That's still a lot of people that would enjoy this game ( laugh )
