First i have to say that is nice its a funny game. The harder part is to lvl when you reached 60 you will think the game is perfect. And about characters... if you ask me... Warrior is kinda booring in the begining but they rule at 60+. rouges probably funniest in the begining and can pk when they're 55 assisin and rule at bosses at 55 as archer. mages funny in the whole game but they're kinda weak in pk coz they die alot but if you can handle not dieing then mage is really nice. priests, well heal and that stuffs i think its funny, battle priests rule at 62 but easy killed, and normal priest cant be killed.
For the basics of choosing a character in the initial parts...
Barbarian warriors wield swords, one-handed or two-handed, and deal the most damage and have formidable defense. Although slow, they have a spell to temporarily make them faster.
Normal warriors, wielding the same weapons as a barbarian, do slightly less damage but their stats are more evenly spread out.
Rogues wield daggers, bows and elbow blades. They have similar attack and defense as warriors, but have the advantage of being able to attack from a safe range with a bow and arrow.
Mages rely solely on magic, and therefore do not have very high attack and defense, although spells, properly trained, can do enough damage before the enemy even reaches you. Mages can also become Necromancers, who excel in downgrading the stats of enemies, helpful in parties on pking. Predominantly wields staffs.
Priests, who wield clubs and mauls, are for a more peaceful player, because they have the choice to become a Shaman at level 10, who excels in healing other players, a necessity in any successful party. On the other hand, priests who prefer killing will become Battle Priests, with higher attack, defense, and whose spells boost the power of a weapon attack to as much as 500%!
All these characters are equally good in their own way, it's up to you which suits your gaming needs.
