Need help finding a new MMO

gamergirl015gamergirl015 Member Posts: 3

With so many out there its hard to choose, i know what i like but i find it hard to find in some of them.

A good questing basis

a decent sized community so the market isn't crashing

a good crafting system that is indepth

Swords, guns, magic those types of mmorpgs please, I don't like real life mmo's or ones that are just shooter multiplayer.

I like league of legends but im looking for something more on a level up and advance and kill bosses type.

right now it has to be free to play, In a few months i can do pay to play, I'd be paying for 2 accounts because my husband will play with me.

I believe WoW is the only game I will absolutely refuse to play, why? because they fed it to casual gamers and ruined it, and i don't feel like paying for a dumbed down game.

My computer can play ANY game, I don't care to put my specifications on that, I could run Eve online x6 on high settings and not bog it down so im not worried about graphics

Any help? I know its a lot.

Rift is a pretty decent game and F2P.   I enjoyed it for a year or so at launch and then came back to enjoy it another six months.  The community was fairly decent, at least on the Faeblight (RP server).   They've added a huge amount of content since I had left so it kept me going for a bit.

I know you said you didn't like real life MMOs but The Secret World is an awesome F2P time filler.  Some of the best written stories, puzzles to date.    There are swords, guns, magic but it is set in some very interesting settings....a creepy fog enshrouded town, Egypt, Blue Ridge Mountains, Transylvania, and now Tokyo.

ArcheAge is another possibility although it doesn't have an official launch date yet.   Seems incredibly complex with a number of sandbox activities.   It will be F2P however some big disadvantages to that.  At least if it launches soon, you could play for a few months and decide if you want to buy patron status.

Played a whole bunch of other games that have since went F2P but haven't played them recently.  Aion was enjoyable but I grew weary of it in short order.   Lord of the Rings Online is jam packed with content but started showing its age for me.  Guess that I had burned myself out on it but still ranks up there as one of the top MMOs I played.

You mention WoW and not wanting to play it.  I still think that WoW is a fine game and there is challenging content at the higher levels.  I know there is still a raid scene over there.   When I played, some of the heroic versions of the dungeons were quite hard and not casual friendly.  Haven't been back to WoW in several years though.

Good luck.  So many fun games out there.  I'm playing ESO right now but hubby and I just purchased founder's packs of ArcheAge.  We are looking for a long term game to play.

Might look at Albion Online. It's a UO type of game if you are familiar with it.

There are alot of them out there, just have to look around. :)
