WildStar does it like ArenaNet - Still refusing to address the population and PVP issues.

By a random poster,

Here's an official comment by crb_anlath about the coming GamesCom and what they will not be able (willing?) to talk about.

Two of the most important and urgent issues atm are not going to be discussed.

http://www.reddit.com/r/WildStar/comments/2d8evs/gamescom_2014_questions_for_wildstar_devs/

"For some further detail, we have three developers with us at gamescom;

Megan Starks - Senior Conent Designer / Nick Roth - Sensior Systems Designer / Jon Wiessman Senior UI Designer

I expect we won't be able to discuss PvP or Realm pop issues in any detail beyond what you have already seen here or on the forums.

EDIT: Sorry to be a party pooper, just want to set a bit of expectation on who is there and what they know."

    Uhm, what?

GW2 was very active and never had a population issue. By the time the lower level areas started having some minor issues, they introduced the guesting system and now they have the Megaserver.

I have no idea where you got this idea of ArenaNet from (you are probably one of those who never touched GW2 most likely) but ArenaNet have addressed the population issues well.

As for PvP, ArenaNet did improve the SPvP a lot. The only thing they delayed was WvW for improvements and new contents. They did introduce EOTM but it had mixed results from what i saw. I left the game just before EOTM came out.

I was there for over a year but if you are gonna give people replies like "thanks for stopping by" with no evidence on why you think someone else is wrong, you need to grow up and learn to have a discussion or just refrain from it.

May be now because of megasever it might be different . When I last played it was empty in most places except Quensdale with the champ train .It was only populated there. I would go to other zones and not see anyone but I am sure it was probably just my server.

I think Wildstar needs the megaserver thing too.

You should have been leveling up by guesting on the Tarnished Coast. In the NA cluster, everyone used it as the leveling server and because of that, it would always have tons of people roaming about. Hence, i said that GW2's low pop zone problems were gone with the introduction of the guesting systems after which they took it a step further and introduced megaservers.

So gw2 had population issues or not? or it's "minor" to you so it doesnt count?

Come on, alot of people have played gw2, including me, maybe none 80 areas are crowded as **** by now and anet have to introduce open world pvp so players can kill each other competing for quest mobs, or it might still be as empty as before, I dont know, since i left gw2 long ago .But please dont claim "it never had a population issue" with a straight face. I giggled when i read this, and giggled again when i read the next sentence.

The megaserver saved GW2. Before that you could run around and not see another plaer for an hour.

GW2 had the issue of having 25 maps and 20 servers along with 8 instances, FotM, and WvW...

There was no reason for seperate servers for PvE (except for guild bounties which has largely been taken care of).

GW1 had the district system which worked fine. GW2 adopted a similar system, sadly without the choice of choosing your district.

However, I DO like how this thread quickly became about GW2 and not about wildstar.

From the statement, it seems like their marketing and PvP people will not be attending gamescom...hence why they would not be authorized to be talking about things related to population count and PvP.

still playing GW2 no pop issues, no server is empty and no server closed needed to merge SINCE launch, so hate more?

now the newbie zones are in a mega servers esque, plus i'm more on W3 war player and enver saw a lack of people.

just because you leave the game it does not mean everyone else will do the same, GW2 have the most retaining of players, a lot diferent from the newier games like Eso and wildstar

to answers your quetion, no GW2 have no population issues with, like most games after a year, starting zones tend to lack people, or not really willing to do anything otehr then the world boss in queens dale and wayfarer, I had no reason to go to char starting zone or silvary ones since they really have anything for my Warrior lvl 80 there, metrica province still have the fire elemental.

also note GW2 are launching content each 2 weeks with living story, people will go to where the story is comming, also they like to push the living story plus the changes it happens in maps with have low number of people on then/ no reason for people go after they explored everything
