My recommendation is a personal project I am currently working on, that is slowly taking off. It's called Fields of Eragos Online, and it is an MMORPG farming game (similar in style to the old-school harvest moon games). It is currently still in development, however I like to post weekly updates and also enjoy interacting with the community to find out what people are most interested in seeing developed into the game. Here is a list of current features and plans for the future.
Currently In the Game/Development
- Personalized Farms - Start your own farm, buy a new one, and upgrade them.
- Professions - Fields of Eragos will have a fully inclusive profession system that will be highly useful in game. Make items yourself, or for friends. Sell your skills to other players for money, or use your gathering professions to collect useful or rate items in game.
- Questline - Fields of Eragos will have a unique storyline that will set it apart from other farming games. None of this, "you inherited this" or "the family farm" non-sense. In Eragos Online, you build your own way in the world.
- Interactive Economy - Imagine a MMO where the economy is dynamic and responds to the actions of the players. The intention is that as items become common they will drop in value, where the less often something is traded the more it will be worth. Certain items are more valuable in different areas, etc.
- Player/NPC Interactions - Although the game will eventually include options to hide/disable the multiplayer aspects of the game (and effectivly play it as a solo game), the intent is to play with friends. With this in mind, I am working on a number of systems to make player interaction with the game very interesting and useful.
Coming Soon/Planned
- Achievements
- Marriage
- Weather
- Titles
- Massive Character Customization
If you have any questions, I am more then happy to respond.

sorry but Farmville clone?
To answer your question simply, no, it is not a Farmville clone.
Some of the more apparent differences is the scale of the game. Farmville is restricted to generally the amount of land you can buy, and then on coins, etc. Eragos Online however is an open world where you can go anywhere and explore. Albeit I have never played Farmville, so some of these may be incorrect, however my game also has a storyline, and a number of features not included in Farmville. There is a lot more to my game then collection/money generation.
