Is the VR grind any better now ?

genoshangenoshan Member UncommonPosts: 51

I played on release. The dupes and bugs killed it for me, but not as much as the VR grind. Is it still as grindy to get throught the Vet ranks ? Have they fixed this at all ? If so how ?

Thanks in advances for your responses.

I was able to look past the bugs, but yeah that VR grind killed it for me too. I'd also like to know how that's turned out.

Thus far, they nerfed it. It's solo content now, moves faster. The Champion system is a couple/few months out.

Not much has changed as far as VR grind goes. Mobs are a bit easier to kill but it still takes like 5million quests to go from VR3 to VR4.

I can imagine. I think most people just go to Craglorn at V1. It''s v11/12 zone so they grind there. It's a lot quicker, but boring if just grinding anomalies. PvP imo, most fun for the xp.

So best VR grind now is just to chain kill high lvl mobs and not quest? heh

I leveled from VR1 to VR5 in Cyrodiil, entirely.  It took me about two weeks to do that, playing every day.  I then jumped into Craglorn to try out the "Craglorn VR grind loops" that many people talk about, which I actually enjoyed immensely.  Doing that content levels you up much faster, at least 10 times faster.  However, I don't believe it to be "necessary" to hit VR12 since the gear differences between ranks isn't dramatic.  Just play the game to have fun, it's not a race and there's only a grind if you look for one.

With Craglorn VR levels are fast.  (Per kill means boss)

VR1-2 you get about 9k xp per kill.

    VR3-7 is 23k per kill

    VR8-12 is 39k per kill

Plus a few 100 per trash kill.

You can kill upwards of 6-8 bosses per 10 minutes.

Approx total of 15-24 hours from VR1-12

**Hint- Go to craglorn and state DPS, Healer or Tank LFG... do not advertise your Vr1 level... because that limits you.   Tower grind (bridge, tower, portal, tower- repeat is best route) is by far the best with the anom nerf.  Mage, thief, war, tomb, hunter repeat isn't bad either but you do a lot more running.

    Yes.

For one thing, there are more than one way to do it now. Craglorn is one option and the restored XP for PVP make both of those viable alternatives to questing in the other Alliance zones.

And even if you do keep on questing at VR levels, the difficulty of the VR solo levelling is now very similar to 1-50.  You no longer need to change to a new build to get through the content - whatever worked to get you there will continue to work.

play it like old school daoc. Get to vr 1 in a good guild and grind craglorn burials for about a week and you will get to VR12. Thats probably the fastest way to VR12 currently until they change the experience flow with the champion patches coming. Its still one hell of a grind and not one you want to run your alts through but it can be profitable grinding craglorn with the amount of purple drops you get doing it that way.

Damn I might give it a second look then. That sounds way faster.

Craglorn kind of killed it for me too, when it was released, i went from VR 1 - 12 in like 4 days, all purely by killing the 3 General bosses ( Thief, Mage and Warrior ) and just that, for 4 days straight, why? because indeed it was the fastest way to level up the VR level rather than doing the dungeons, and because every single person is doing that

then comes the time where i reached VR12, then? that's it, i was so burnt out by the grinding i dont even feel like getting to VR12 was something,

i guess this is what is lacking in TESO, when in WOW, back in the days, reaching Lv 60 means so much,

maybe when it's F2P, i will play again, for now, it's not worth the subs

and on topic: i guess the VR content are still the same ? i havent logged in since like 2 months ago..

    So What Now?

Sometimes the devs need to protect the players from themselves. I did one level grinding anoms. It made me look at those doing them differently, in a disgusted kinda a way honestly. It most certainly is the path of least resistance, but it is by far the most mind numbing. I understand why you feel the way you do.

If they gave some players the option of a mud crab spawning at  their feet that gave 50k xp, they would do it from level 1-v12.

    Lol... too true.

I found anomaly grinding a strange mix of hyperactivity and boredom... do anom... rush to wayshrine... next...

I usually try to get questing groups in Craglorn instead. May not be as efficient but you still get good XP, good loot and it's far more interesting since the quest chains there usually involve a good mix of open world and delves.

So you leveled up the fastest way possible, by grinding repetitive content. And now you're complaining that you were able to level up too quickly?

Craglorn is faster, but IMO more boring and tedius than questing. Cyrodil is hit or miss, and as AD it is mostly miss.

Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War
Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile

hi, you are wrong you want go fast to max lvl or you want content? many of you guys have bad field of view.. ppl in SWTOR was crying for not much content so you have it in ESO just dont look so much to your vr only go and make your story thrue game.. you play all 3 faction content so this is super great you dont need to cry iam from this one faction and i must make another char to see all content.. so ESO brings this kind of experience.. if you accept it you can enjoy game and i garantee to you after you are going thrue this content you will have vr10 rank in vr10 zone.. yea there is only mental problem.. you are playing like you play another game for 3 times but not its another content.. and now after some balances you can do this content solo and you dont need play as DK or Sorc to make it posible.. just play your game and everything comes ;)
