Convention lines are a fact of life. But lining up for…I didn’t even know what, that was something new. The Division was hidden inside a giant box. There was no sound coming from it, no hints at what might be inside. Our only choice was to jump in and find out for ourselves. While waiting we wondered, would we finally be getting hands on time with the game I’ve been eagerly awaiting since it was first announced?

Given the recent trends with games like Archeage, Elite and EQ:Landmark, I'd say a paid "early access" (alpha or beta) program for this game is almost a certainty.
Impatience is not a trait unique to 'very young'. Stop assuming.
Weird article. Seems more like a scientific look into the mind and reasoning of today's generation of gamer: the game looks awesome, but I need to wait for it, and this has to stop. ?
What we should all be concerned about regarding Gamescon and Ubisoft's The Division is how there was no playable demo. We've already seen nonsense like Ubisoft's Watchdogs throw beautiful graphics into multiple gameplay videos, only to find that the real game plays and looks nothing like the videos.
From what we've seen of the gameplay videos in The Division, the graphics look absolutely incredible. My reaction to the amazing amount of world detail reminds me of the same reaction I had to the amazing amount of world detail in Watchdogs.
At this point I think it's safe to assume that all gameplay videos for The Division do not represent the game we're going to play, so until we get some actual gameplay demos, we should all be very, very cautious.
Luckily for the author of the original article, he doesn't need to be cautious since he's already given up on the game.
How is a paid alpha/beta a sign of poor quality ? Before people would pre-order games and get nothign now you pre-order a game and help with the development process.. its a great option.
ALL I can say is that "The Division" ..."SHOULD BE"...a VERY INTERESTING, EXCITING and IMMMERSED way to play a video game. Regardless of all the "hype, hoopla, yays&naysayers, and what-have-you's", one should be excited about getting "in", on this game. I, for one, can't wait to get my hands on it!
This game seems to simply implement ALL of the latest techs and ideas into "one big sha-bang-a-bang'. THAT alone should be cause enough to try!
