Elder Scrolls Online: Loyalty Begins with a Pet

SBFordSBFord Former Associate EditorMember LegendaryPosts: 33,129

Elder Scrolls Online players who have shown a commitment to the game will soon receive a special loyalty reward, and others as time goes on, in recognition of their support of the game. In September, Loyalty Rewards players will receive a High Hrothgar Wraith vanity pet.

Since launch, we’ve loved sharing the adventure of ESO with you as you explore ever-growing Tamriel. There’s so much more on the horizon, but we think it’s important to give some special recognition to those of you who have already been there every step of the way.

Starting in September, we’ll begin emailing all eligible paid subscribers about the first of our loyalty rewards. Every paid account that has been subscribed for three months (excluding game time included with your purchase of ESO and any additional complimentary game time) will receive a High Hrothgar Wraith vanity pet that will let you show your dedication to saving Tamriel wherever you adventure in-game. The loyalty program will keep expanding over time, so keep an eye out for more tokens of our gratitude if you’re a longtime player. Our next reward will be granted for those who have subscribed for six months—we’ll reveal it to you soon.

Discuss the new program on the Elder Scrolls Online forum.

Woohoo! I've always been a fan of those sorts of rewards. And I actually qualify, even though I've barely played lately. (Too many other MMO's!)

My SWTOR referral link for those wanting to give the game a try. (Newbies get a welcome package while returning players get a few account upgrades to help with their preferred status.)

Not that I want to defend Blizzard and their business practices. But wasn't there something like a pet every birthday of WoW at least for the last 4 years or so if you were subscribed and actually logged in to "celebrate" with them? This is at least something :D Even if it's not directly linked to loyality: the longer you played, the more of them you got.

But maybe I'm wrong, I never paid too much attention to these things and stopped playing 2 years ago.

WOW gave you a Death Knight.  Fully outfitted, a mount to go with it, and most flight paths marked.  And I seem to remember anniversary pets.

Years 1-3 Blizz didn't give anything for their anniversary

    Year 4- Baby Blizzard Bear

    Year 5 - Onyxian Whelpling

    Year 6 - Nothing . . . for some reason

    Year 7-9 - Exp buffs

Also in 2008 if you participated in a Ballteground you got the competitor's tabard and had a chance for the Spirit of Competition pet to commemorate the Olympics.

I'd rather have what Trion gives out in Rifts --- give me a piece of stated gear that I get for every character on my account. I can wear it, break it down, or just sell it if I don't want it. What do I want with a Vanity Pet that can only go to one character or sits in my limited slot shared bank account. At least they could make it go into a non inventory area that you call out with a Pet Call Hotkey. I'll just do to it what I did too all the others they gave out and use it for 2 minutes and then delete it.
