I was very excited about this games art style and concept but gameplay was not that good . it was kinda glitchy sometimes . I hope it gets better now . Sure i will say yes to greenlight and maybe give it try for last time .

New hellgate on a decent developer and company would be nice but wont happen.
This was a good game, fun loot hunting with a scifi theme and lots of potential. It's theme kind of reminds me of the Underworld movies, with a bunch of hell thrown in. I thought the classes were pretty awesome, especially the pet classes.
IIRC, one of the main reasons people were mad back in the day was that single player wasn't patched up to match multiplayer at any time during release, and when the word came out that they were closing down the studio, us single player people missed out. There were people who could play the updates if they were already monthly subscribers, but if left those of us who preferred single player out in the cold. Always online was just coming out and I know I hated the idea of needing to have a constant connection to the servers to play single player.
Also, the mini game was often in a broken state because some configurations couldn't be completed.
I think it's worth another playthough. Is there really another good scifi diablo type game of this level anyway? Firefall doesn't count, lol!
i played a few weeks ago and uninstalled, i like the game, but its heavily instanced and the random elite monsters in early areas are imposible to kill without groups, and i rarely see people around to so its instant death all the time.
Don't know that I agree with this unless your talking about the hellgate global content after the content from the original, which i admit I have barely played, then everything is quite solable even in hell mode which you can only access via a glitch of having an old character set to hell difficulty.
Personally I found this to be everything Diablo 2 fans loved about diablo 2 with some slight twists like the view angle and so on. I tried to get friends to play it with me but the idea of torrenting a game in 6 parts drove them off. Maybe now that its on steam more people will play it.
I really enjoyed the game when it first came out. The original development team had worked with Blizzard for years doing the Diablo series before they branched off to work on titles like Hellgate London, Guild Wars 2, and a few others. My only concern bringing this back would be that it should get a graphics refresh. The randomized dungeon levels and item modification system should remain similar if not the same.
I just have to ask why? With all due respect to it's fans and it's owners, this hardly ever works out. I'd think investing money into something improving on it's ideas would be a better path to follow.

I would play some of this gain. I remember years ago playing this I never got to play much of it I don't remember why but I actually liked it. Sometimes its good to keep gaming history alive and keep around some of the older games.

For the record it never died the second time.
Just no one plays it now.
Always liked the scene were the demon entered the church.
It was those days were actualy demons were looking like demons and not like cartoony stupid pandas like nowadays
Loved the lore of this game and read all three books that were published with the Hellgate title.
Wish a big developer would grab this title and make a newer version...
Agreed. 2007 HG vet here.
