Destiny: Bungie's Online Shooter Goes Gold

As of Saturday, Bungie's first big post-Halo game is finally done and on its way to stores. The game launches September 9th for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4.

As far as when you can actually start playing, Bungie remarked, "Destiny servers will admit Guardians as soon as it is September 9th somewhere in the world. When you play is between you and your retailer."

    A ton of ps4 people are bragging about the TINY amount of dlc they get before Xbox owners, but this is such a big game that DLC means nothing. Xbox One servers are smooth as hell, controller is superior for shooters and I am stoked to start playing!

    IM sorry i think it comes down to prefrence on which controller is better and can we please stop arguing over trival stuff like this. i just want to enjoy my game forums read comment without a flame war happening every 10 mins. th

    Well said dusty, I was just about to make a post saying pretty much the same things. It's crazy people have to be so polarized over every damn subject.

    As for Destiny, got my copy pre-ordered and can't wait for September 9th. I really enjoyed my time in the betas.

    What difference does it make which controller is better for which type of game? Everyone on your chosen platform is using the same damn controller, no advantage gained.

    This trolling is just beyond sad.

    I always been a diehard XBOX fan, but this time round I went for the PS4. As I feel that Microsoft seems to be stuck in a limbo atm. Kind of Identity crisis, not knowing now what direction to take.

    If they get their bearing again, with a clear focus....I might get the XBOX One in the future as well.

    I currently love the PS4 and the New DS4 Controller. They are both good, as I still use the XBOX360 controller on my PC regularly.

    Each Controller has it´s Pro´s and Con´s.  Each platform has it´s Pro´s and Con´s. Each platform has it´s exclusives.

    Just pick whatever platform you prefer. Don´t have to be such an ass about it.

    I laugh every time someone calls themselves gamers then go on a rampage in a silly console war. All of them have good and bad games, including PC. And every control peripheral in every platform has pros and cons, its just preference. EDIT: fanboys killing  each other to defend their preferred platform while all the CEOs hang out together and have a good time. Its sad to be a fanboy.

    Have they talked about what the differences are if you ran the game on the older generation? I only have an xbox 360 and still haven't got around to getting the new xbox as I think there are not even games out on it to warrant buying it. But I really want to play this game, it looks awesome. Might finally go and get the new xbox for this.

    Well I broke down and purchased a PS4. I will pre load Destiny. I will chime in on the controller too, I have had xb360, ps3, xb1, and PS4. Ps4/xb1 are tied for my favorite, followed by the 360 , and my least favorite is the ps3 because it's so small.

    The only difference is the graphical fidelity.

    I've tried the game on both of my consoles (Xbox360 and PS4) and while the difference is clearly visible, it's not so huge or important (for me) to warrant a purchase of new system solely for this game.

    Is this game at 1080 for XBone ?

     

    I know they have been having issues at most of their games being at 720.

    I've been on the fence about buying a new console, if I did it would have to be xbox for Halo games. I've been following this game's progress and it may just be enough to get me to buy an Xbox One this or next week.

    I'm going to be busy with SWTOR , PSO2 and Destiny . My poor time is indeed gone or almost gone. That's the only downside he he.

    Cant wait for this...Went with PS for it, mostly because it was a tossup on playing with clan mates from CoD or playing with RL friends who know where I live...So went with the playstation, as that's the system they had. Will most likely STILL pick up Destiny for 360 later.

     

    As for the flame wars...Yes everyone has their preference, but fighting over which system is better is sort of like a Star Wars fan calling a Star Trek fan a nerd because he watches Science Fiction shows. News flash, you're all Gamers, embrace that over all else :)

    true. If this game is what you want the most, Fivoroth, then its safe to stick to your XB360 for a while longer. Destiny would have been a new-console seller if it ran at 60fps on the new consoles, but it doesnt.

    Would be a shock since the xbox1 doesn't support true 1080 for games.
