Somebody, somewhere has better skills as you have, more experience as you have, is smarter than you, has more friends as you do and can stay online longer. Just pray he's not out to get you.

Yet bill wont review it. Even though he said "If they are charging money. We will review it."

Imo the game launched when the cash shop went live. We are now paying for buggy bare bones products that we have to supplement with cash shop expenditures. Expect exacly the same with Next and H1Z1. This just gets crazier and crazier. The cash grab in most games today is truly revolting.

What is Walmart going to do about refund requests from people who buy this expecting a real "game" to play, and log on Landmark to find that it is basically an evolving technology demonstration application with very limited "gamer" things to do?

Refer people to Sony?  Give them a refund and then contact Sony to cut off beta access?

Well, Walmart return policy does not return video games that are "opened" seeing how this is a card though that provides access to the game... well card returns at Wal-Mart are a little different, like phone cards and iTunes cards. They will attempt to return it, but if it has been activated or used in any way, or if the back is scratched off of it, assuming it has that, then they can't take it back.

People can/and will throw a fit about these things and insist that they take it back anyway. However, the system at walmart does not allow for these cards to be returned, and no manager level can override that. Some may think that they can because they've "done it before" but I promise it was just some nice Assistant Manager that didn't want to hear anymore of the whining and just gave a "customer satisfaction" money back.

All they can do is try the card to return it, if it wont work, it wont work.

    -Former Assistant Manager at Walmart

P.S. I know the question was rhetorical, but I still felt like answering.

they don't sell the game, they sell 2000 Station cash for 20$. The same Price you pay for 2000 Station Cash if you buy online for any SOE game.

But if you buy it at wal mart you get two things extra:

    Access to Landmark

    1 of 5 random items

the question is, is the 2000 station cash you buy only for Landmark or for any SOE game. If its for any SOE game its a way to get a free entrance to Landmark when you buy station cash for your actual SOE game.

If its only for Landmark, well the 20$ are still for the 2000 Station Cash, game is free

    Edit:

its not the first time that wal mart sells SOE  station Cash cards witha bonus. and the price is always the one you pay for the station cahs only, everything else is a bonus!

    same price without walmart bonus:

*i'm not a walmart supoorter as there is none where i live.

SOE Cash has never been game specific  - your SC balance is usable in all SOE games

the card is basically a generic Station Cash card,  with added bonus of Landmark access

but it still annoys me that BETA is not listed on front of the card

In that case this has the potential to backfire big time, because the card does not include access to a "game" it includes access to the middle stages of an evolving online environment which contains *some* game elements....

Basically, gross misrepresentation on the part of Sony and Walmart to a whole bunch of people who won't know better when they buy the card.

well it say that if you redeem the card during beta you're given permanent access to the beta. its not in big letters on the front. but its not, because they intend to sell them after beta ended too. Maybe some one failed at designing the card. but that happens.

We all know that they're specifically targeting customers who are looking to purchase a beta invite for Landmark.

People who look to purchase a beta invate can already do that. 19,99$ for the cheapest founders pack. And with the founderspack you get items and titles you can't get ingame, but the 1 of 5 bonus items you can get ingame. maybe they should add station cahs to the founders pack retro active.

the clarifier note i copy and pasted from the website

I have not personally seen the actual card

but the image shown on SOE's site, does not mention beta in the card marketing

seems like Gamestop has a better deal

    $20.00  for 2500 SOE cash

    https://www.landmarkthegame.com/gamestop

    https://forums.station.sony.com/landmark/index.php?threads/landmark-game-cards-coming-to-gamestop.46537/

After some back and forth with the card producer and GameStop, we’ve discovered that GameStop pushed the street date for these cards to next week. As near as we can tell, this should happen on Monday, August 25th. We are still working to confirm the exact date.

Each GameStop store location in the U.S. is slated to carry a peg's worth of the Collector's Edition cards. Once they are sold out, the Standard Edition card will be placed on the shelf.

I'm livid to no end. I hate seeing companies selling betas. Product testing use to be a job!

Yet you spent 60 bucks on ESO. LM is by far already a better game then ESO if you like building and exploring. Also SoE has said at any time you stop playing you can ask for a refund and you will get your money back.

I love the idea of Landmark but much like Minecraft I just cant get beyond the graphics.

(two different graphic styles I know but still)

Please do not respond to me, even if I ask you a question, its rhetorical.

Please do not respond to me

You don't have to pay to test it. You can not test it. And I can tell you most people "testing" landmark are just playing and having a lot of fun.

Early access is becoming more and more common. I would get used to it.
