Honestly this is the majority of Asian MMOs take on online gaming. Its not racial its just how they build games. Pretty looking, bubbly, with no commitment to quests. Click point lvl 20, make the game just a visual mind rub when your content alarm goes off you think its false but its a real emergency. Lets call it what it is people: Not made for NA.
No, Its just not made for Drew213 and a vocal minority. Or perhaps I missed the memo proclaiming Drew213 the spokesperson for the entirety of North America. I am in NA and I am enjoying the game. And so is my girlfriend, my friends, and my family. There are also multiple full servers of NA players enjoying the game. Gotta love those people who try speaking for an entire nation in an attempt to somehow validate or fortify their opinion.
I've no clue where this whole thing about lvl 30 started from. What comes to mind is that at lvl 30 open world pvp opens up; but then again that's not the only thing that AA is about.
So please stop saying lvl 30 like it's some magical number; because it's not.
If you want a magical number it's lvl 10. At lvl 10 you get the first trade quests that give you the scarecrow. From there a whole new world opens to you. You start seeing quests as a way to get quick money to buy seeds, then harvest what you planted and sell on the ah for a lot more money.
Trading opens up at the same time as farming; and that's another very good part of the game. Once you get 15 gilda stars (20m gameplay if you rush) you place down your house and start mining for ores. Mining iron veins gives A LOT of XP. Mining is the fastest way to lvl, not quests. What's the catch? It costs labor points.
As a patron i did daily 1 lvl just by mining. Are you f2p? Stick to quests then, till you have enough gold for APEX. Or just pay the 15$.
Could you elaborate on the housing please. I went to Mirage Island and the smallest house I saw cost 150 gilda stars.
I have 23 so far and I am at level 20.
What am I missing?
Smallest house costs 15, you notice them since there are like 10 different types you can buy near the road.

You're missing the houses for 15... That's what the smallest houses cost
I love when people say the combat is clunky, in a game where you make your own classes. It's not FPS combat, the combo system has depth, if you build a clunky mess, you will have clunky combat.

Most complainers didn't get to lvl 30+ where you get a decent amount of skill points that unlock many comboes..As if WoW gives you all skills at lvl 1. You have a decent character progression, aswell as time to practice which are the best comboes for your play stile.
If you want all skills available from lvl 1 play GW2, oh wait, you need skill points there too!
If you are not liking the combat its not going to be easy but the combat get better (or not depends individual opinions) as you lvl up just like most traditional "gain skill per lvl" mmorpgs.
Meanwhile, you can spend some time trying diferent combinations of skill sets, maybe you find something more fun for you.
You can focus only in non-combat activitys. And yes, alot AA players play days or weeks whithout killing a single mob or player, even after lvl 20s.
But for that you need patron status, if you wanna try that wait for release and try it during 1 month spending only 15 bucks, my advice ofc.
Theres alot of skills combinations in AA, even if you search web and seems only a few are most usual doesnt mean that there isnt one less used that dont work. Try to thing a little out of the box and build what you thing is fun, even others saying that dont make sense or something like that. Use beta to explore that part, never mind doing more quest, keep trying diferent builds.
Even though it's a big wall of text, I feel as though most of the comments were made without reading my OP. Simply put, I've stated what I have already experienced in the game so far, what I haven't gotten to yet, and some issues I've "personally" had with the game. I merely wanted to know if my feelings were mutual with other players, and if the game really did "get better" in the higher levels because of PVP. As far as me stating that the combat feels stale/clunky, I have already expressed that I've gotten around to opening up long combinations of skills. At the end of my OP, I stated that I could have just been spoiled by Action-combat games with "fluid" movement and controls. That's probably it
I have only got to play AA this weekend for the first time. My first comment to my wife was the graphics to me were stale. I started to play the game and only got tl lvl 3 before i lgged into DOTA2.
I came back the next day to try again. FInally i had to walk away becasue, damm i was enjoying myself! My wife then jumped on to give it a go. About 5 hour later she walked into our room and said that she had to walk away or she would be up all night as well.
I have only gotten to lvl 13. But am enjoying myself. I actually have enjoyed the class quests and kept playing cause i wanted to see what was next. I have done very little crafting/gathering so i cant say i have an honest opion there. But i have already looked around for a guild (and found one) SO we shall see where this leads.
I do enjoy PvP so i guess ill need to wait until lvl 30 or so? But overall. I am enjoying the expericance thus far.
