I got inside information that leaked out a few days ago about the release date and server names, so I put in for my vacation ahead of time. I'm certainly looking forward to many sleepless nights and Redbulls. Its been a long time since I've been this excited about a game.

Dammit I work away every second week, so I had a 50/50 chance of being home for head start. And, naturally, I'm away so I've lost my head start advantage.

    *sigh*

I like how kids find it so cool to have an opinion such as this. Hop on that band wagon folks, its "tab-target" bashing time. Last two games to try their hand at making non-tab targetting a "feature" ended up sucking balls. It almost like "i hate tab targetting" is just an extension to the "i hate wow cus its cool to hate wow meme"

And by the way.. i totally take your view seriously when a major game feature that you HATE is somewhat balanced out by "the cool way they do mounts".

This sounds like a great service, but you'd also need to specifiy which server you'll be doing this on. It's always good to have a backup plan... image

Thats a little harsh.  I have to say I'm not a fan of the step back to tab targeting.  Its something games need to use sparsely.  I realize some targetting is necessary but action combat is more realistic, more fun and introduces another level of skill.  The failure of recent games was due to numerous reasons, none of which was related to a lack of tab targeting.

There already were EU servers for CBT3 and CBT4 - open beta will also have EU servers.

Here's the list of EU servers for CBT4:

    Europe

    • Shatigon
    • Kyprosa
    • Eanna
    • Dahuta

It's possible that more servers may be added to that list for Open Beta, because OB will supposedly run with the full list list of launch servers, and the final launch version of the game.

Marvelous! A lot sooner than I hoped!

The 1st betas, I tried as a FTP player, and last one played as a patron since I bought a founders pack. The game is well worth a patron sub (at least for my money), if you want to play ArcheAge seriously.

Now to try to find a guild in a EU server that fits me and vice-versa. Been playing solo until now, but joining a guild and playing with friends is the way to go.

A lot sooner than I expected.  I'm actually on vacation and won't be back home until late in the evening on 12 Sept.  It could be worse, I guess, than losing almost a whole day on the head start.

Is a man not entitled to the herp of his derp?

Remember, I live in a world where juggalos and yugioh players are real things.

They already know this game is going to fail, that's why they are trying to rush release. Milk as much money as they can. I'm not giving them a cent, but I'll still play!

    Not shocked at all.

In fact, no idea what took them so long.

Yeah, it has been a bit puzzling.

All I can imagine is that the whole process between Trion and XLGames is extremely slow and laborious. Trion asks for a change, and XL have to review it, determine the impact and work required to make it happen. If it's in any way a significant change, it would also have to be discussed with all the other regional publishers (add a few weeks). These discussions may result in changes to the original request, so back to Trion so that they can see if it's still in line with what they want, and so on, and so on...

I suspect the bulk of Trion's effort has been the interfacing of the game code with their account management system. I also suspect that the team involved was quite small.
