Question for anyone that owns The Razer Naga MMO Gaming Mouse

I am looking for a mouse that I can set a macro to a button to hold down the right mouse button, then release it on a second press. Can this mouse do that?

 

I was in the Archeage beta and plan to play, but the one thing I want is to play with mouselook (they dont have a toggle for that) so I need something to hold down the right mouse button then release it at times I need my cursor back.

    Can you re-bind the right mouse button on that mouse to anything other than the right-mouse button?  Can you re-bind the mouselook button in the game to anything other than the right mouse?  If both are "no", then there isn't much you can do to perform exactly what you're asking for, due to the way games handle mouse button input.

     

    There are other options, such as setting up an AutoIt macro to toggle the right-mouse when a certain key-combination is pressed.

    The game is tab target.  You really don't need the mouse look.

    I don't "need" to play the game at all, but I want to and I want to use mouselook when I do. But thank you for letting me know I am not required to.

     

    But to the Useful reply, I don't know what an Autoit macro is, can you link something that explains that for me? (googling now, but thats not always useful)

    Naga can set such a macro however Naga is not a very good mouse. My friend got it and was complaining that it was not good after 6 months.

     

    Thermoltake's TT gaming and Logitech's gaming mouses can also easily do such macros.

     

    As for using AutoIT and stuff, wouldn't recommended it. Some games ban running macroing programs in the background so it is better to be safe than sorry.

    Yes you can set macros on the Naga. I have two Nagas in the house, one of the older series ones that is about 3 years old, and a newer Naga Epic that is about a year old. Neither one has ever given me any problems. The logitech one is also good, but I personally like the physical feel of the Naga.

    I will give an opposing viewpoint, I love my razer naga and will never, ever own another gaming mouse. I purchased mine years ago and it still works like a charm. No issues.

    You can record a macro that will hold the right button mouse down and then insert a certain delay before it "releases" again. I just did one for 300 seconds.

    I don't know if there is a better way to do that.

    I've had 2 Razer Naga mouses. On both of them various mouse wheel functions have failed.  I doubt I will be buying another one unless the Logitech G600 I currently use also shows defective hardware.  I prefer the Naga's performance and feel but after over 5 years of production runs Razer still hasn't fixed their mouse wheel.

    I've had my logitech g600 for a good 3 years now, never any issues, some dont like the size of it but i

    the damn thing. no matter what pc games i play, my keyboard is only ever used for moving anymore, which really helps in some mmo's!

    Would Recommend 

    EDIT: and yes, it'll do whatever you set it to. I have attack rotations for a couple games macro'ed into it, some of which are upwards of 3 minutes in length.

    I agree about Logitech g600 have only been hearing good things about it (3 guys that I personally know has it. All of them thinks they are decent).

     

    I personally uses TT eSport L10 (mainly because I found somewhere that sold it for around 1/3 of the retail price). It is solid, accurate and buttons are very good. I was actually very surprise with it (I thought it was meant to be gimmicky)

    My Naga lasted about 3 months before the left mouse button went bad.  My Logitech MMO mouse is over a year old and going strong.  Just posting for informational purposes.  YMMV

    I spilled water on my RAT 9 cyborg and decided to try the razer naga epic for a change of pace. I knew within 30 minutes of playing that i loathed this mouse and was instantly regretting getting it. I can't wait until i kill this thing so i can go pick up my old or a different mouse back again. I was a super big fan of the copperhead so was hoping i'd like this one too.

    I have to agree.  I used to have a mamba and it worked well for a while, but started giving me issues within a year of purchase.  My wife has a Naga that she has been using for about a year and a half and it's starting to give her a lot of issues.  Sometimes it just stops working and she has to move it back and forth a bunch of time (fast) to get it to kick back on.

     

    I have since switched to the cyborg rat. 9 mouse.  The mouse is the most comfortable mouse I've ever used (second being my mamba).  It has been working well for about a year now and no issues.  The software for changing button macros and etc is the best i've seen.  Very easy to use and never gives me any issues.

     

     The other thing I love about this mouse over my mamba.  They both are wireless.  The problem I found with the mamba is that they only give you one battery.  So, after a couple hours of play you have to plug the mouse back into the cord.  This kinda defeats the purpose of being wireless.  The cyborg came with 2 batteries.  One you use, while the other charges.  The battery charges way before it needs replaced.

     

    P.S.  I didn't mean to give a pointless answer.  I just thought you might think you needed mouse look.

    I have had one Razer Naga and one Razer Mamba for nearly four years and have not had issues out of either mouse.  I have actually enjoyed using both of them and am still using both of them to this day.  I'm using the Naga in an MMORPG and the Mamba at work.

    However, I have no idea how to set a mouse button to toggle instead of just click.  That might require some external software like AutoHotKey or something.

     

    I can not remember winning or losing a single debate on the internet.

    Found this mouse, the maddcatz m.m.o.7 gaming mouse. It has a feature called ActionLock for both left and right mouse button. It's exactly what I am looking for. I think I may try this one.

    I'd hold off pulling the trigger on that Mad Catz mouse until you get some feedback mate. Mad Catz made the RAT 7 mouse which was truly awful and the company has one of the worst customer service i've ever experienced.

    I've had the Razer Naga, Logitech G600 and the RAT 7. The only one i still use today is the G600 and it has the added bonus of excellent customer support, twice i've had problems with Logitech products and they've sent out replacements with practically no questions asked and before i've even sent back the faulty ones.

    In your shoes i'd go into a store and see how both the Naga and G600 feel in your hand and make a decision from that. Either mouse combined with Autohotkey will do anything you could ever want to do. Just bear in mind that they will feel weird to begin with.

    AutoIt is a free scripting / macro program.  Search for the word "AutoIt" and the first thing that comes up should be the right page.  It is about as easy to program as using Basic and does not rely on proprietary hardware.  They frown upon their program being used for gaming purposes, so don't expect much help from their forums if you mention anything to do with gaming.

    Thanks for the word of caution. I will put alot more research into it before I act. I am a fan of logitech, my G13 is required hardware for me now. So I know they make good products for sure. If only I could get it to macro the right mouse hold I'b be set, but nothing with that ever worked out.
