Seriously, why does a game like this not have such a simple option?? Every first person game i have ever played since the year 2005 has had this option.

And nearly 100% of the localized Asian games lack this. This just isn't a feature that they use.
So this addition will generally happen during localization if at all.
I had the same concern a year ago and Archeage was the first game I forced myself to re-learn and it only took a few days to get used to. Now I can't play inverted with any game anymore. This is coming from someone who has been playing inverted since the original Doom.
Obviously not the best solution but IMHO is a bit of a handicap especially if you play Asian games (playing inverted that is).
Yup, the closer the game gets to release the more grasping at straws the haters have.
Not sure what they hope to accomplish, maybe get the game cancelled? That's not going to happen. Plus every stupid game does/doesn't have this I won't play thread just brings more attention to the game and most likely more people playing.
i don't consider it a first person game though. any mmo like this I play panned out quite a bit in third-person. firefall (where you need to aim) i play first person.
i mean, it's a simple thing to add so i hope they do, but for a game like this i wouldnt consider it a dealbreaker
RIP Ribbitribbitt you are missed, kid.

I'm sure xpadder would sort that out for you and at a mere $10 or less it's a bargain , helped me a lot on SWTOR.

If inverted mousing is important to you, SakasaMouse is simple, free and works up to and including win 7 64bit ent. (have not tried it with win 8)
No install - Just unzip to a dir and click the .exe...

The option to use inverted mouse controlls in any PC game has been around a lot longer than that.
I'm pretty much in the same boat and when I tried their first beta, realized the option didn't exist, I immediately uninstalled.
I don't know if I would like AA, or not, because I simply didn't have the opportunity to play the game. I also refuse to use a 3rd party program running in the background when this is something simply added to the game on the developers end.
I'll probably give AA a shot if/when they decide to implement this feature. But until that time comes I'm playing the waiting game.
I hear ya brothers. Had to quit after an hour in Beta 2 due to this. Yes, there are ways to work around it, but if a game lacks this simple feature, what else is messed up?

My best friend asked me the same question, he did not understand why. I didnt know how to reply. i guess its similar to growing up either left or right handed, its just what you are used too and what you have grew up with. When i pull the mouse down, I like to look up, not down, and vice versa. I would be actually intrested in a poll to see who prefares what
Oh and when i said "not playing" i guess i was ment to say "not being able to play"
The best way to see why people who use inverted mouses dont like to change is to do this:
Start up a game you've played forever and invert the mouse. K start playing. See it's not that bad and .. No WAIT! What are you doing? no, no you cant change back to what your used too, EVER. Its not in the options.. your stuck. have fun.
Retraining yourself is ok but will take time. Time that most people wont want to invest since the option is so common in other games..
I'm sorry, but why in the world would an inverted mouse matter in a tab-targeting game? It's not like your trying to aim attacks or anything. If this were a FPS, this complaint would make sense, however in an MMO I don't see how this is even relevant.

I'm left handed and often invert the mouse, so that was a pretty good guess
i also bought a specialized gaming keyboard with strafing buttons with the arrows on the right hand side of the keyboard so I wouldn't have to use wasd for movement
10 % of the population is left handed and I'm always amazed at how companies regularly don't think about those gamers
I'm fine with a non-inverted mouse.... but when it comes to joysticks, it HAS to have an inverted Y-axis but normal X....
As for why people would get used to an inverted mouse, I could see someone who used a click and drag paradigm, e.g. Google Maps, to get used to "dragging right makes me look left", even more so in the game where you hold down the mouse button to change your view.
I wonder how teaching people to use the mouse ass-backwards started, perhaps its something that comes from the joystick/gamepad era with people who refuse to modify their habits with interface changes. The first dev who made people aware that such options could even exist set us on a grand path of indulging stubbornness.
Most people have absolutely no problem with playing flight-sims and the like inverted as an exception, in fact it's been proven in studies that regardless of what a person prefers in terms of control at first, be it inverted vertically or horizontally, once they have a bit of practice there is no statistically significant drop in performance. The brain is adaptable like that, unlike stubborn personalities.
I suppose when futuristic holographic displays get invented a whole generation of users will insist on the devs coding completely superfluous tactile feedback features for software because they refuse to use it 'without feeling the keys'.

For me it feels much more natural, you tilt your head backwards to look up and you tilt your head forward to look down. Inverted mouse movement translates that very well.
Here's the important question you need to ask yourself....Do I like the game and want to play? If so then you either adapt to how the mouse is or use on of the programs others have suggested. Basically your only choices if you wish to play. Make sure you and others suggest this feature to Trion and maybe they will get it in game.

Thanks for letting me know, if it doesnt have this option Im not even consider playing this.
All my games have inverted mouse, Im not gonna re-learn because of this game, Im not
There was a time I was dependent on the inverted mouse but I ran into some early betas of games that didn't have that option. One week I decided to switch ... it took me a day and I was already used to it. It wasn't as difficult as I thought it would be.

that desperate for this MMO.
This exactly. In a world glutted with MMO choices, expecting the customer to change what he/she is used to is foolish. Add in the mouse invert option and I'll give it a shot, until then, I'll play any number of other options out there. Good devs understand its on them to hook us, not the other way around.

I would think your gripe is with the mice companies,i would expect their software to allow you to invert X-Y axis.
Only type game i could ever see this being useful is in a flight simulator ,i have never considered using the option.
I believe you can flipflop mouse wheel in Registry settings as well.

There's a thread about our biggest complaints in the MMO genre....

This thread....is one of my complaints. A thread about....No invert mouse function.

Ive been playing it for an hour now and i'm kinda getting used to it lol
