No Passion

I have a large guild and everybody has been playing beta from day one and loving it so I bought beta....waste of money.

I made it about a hour before I stopped playing.

Can't blame lack of fun/interest in not having a guild/community to play with, guide, and encourage me.

I found the first 10 levels the same old tired kill x, fetch this, etc.

In fact, it is sub par IMHO, corny music, no NPC quest voice overs, quests so easy/basic it is almost a kid's game, ad hoc no quest story line, etc.

The movement and combat seemed ok, WoWlike.  I

I love non-consentual PVP, so this aspect of the game interests me.

Of course, everyone in guild said you gotta get past level 30, then it is fun.

Well, I had zero motivation to push past the pain to level 30.

I have sat out the beta, have no real passion to take advantage of my "early access" but I will give it one more try....this time clench my teeth and get past the level 30 hump....

I am looking for that MMO game that "addicts" me like EQ and WoW did, where I stay up late grinding, wake up early to start again, fantasize about a life where I could play the game 7x24....

...ArcheAge is not that game, but like SWOTR, NW, ESO, Tera, Rift, etc.  it may occupy my time for a month or so until the next triple MMO comes out and I can try again to rekindle the old EQ/WoW passion and hope for a new MMO addiction.

Currently playing LoL, Hearthstone, World of Tanks and just quit Hereos & Generals  due to experience patch.

Well I hope you do find it fun so you don't feel it a waste of money. If you don't like it, then you don't like it. Hope you find passion in another game. In the end it is all about having fun!

How many guides and posts have there been about how to level without questing ? These posts seem like the same old boring people doing the same old boring things.

Nothing wrong with the feelings you are having.  I think they are quite common.  I have had many similar experiences.

If I ever get that feeling, I stop playing the game.  I'd rather not force myself into an unpleasant experience and then potentially always associate that feeling with the game.

So much depends on what on your mood, what is going on around your life, etc that often causes some games to be more appealing than others at the time.

I'd recommend to step away from it.  Play something else (maybe a new release you didn't try or a game you've been itching to come back to) and then, when you feel the time is right, come back to the game and see if you have a different experience.
