Many months after the games releases, how is that a bad thing, people will be bored after a month or so, so fresh content after a few months is a good move
The games not even out yet and they already announcing expansions lol
Yeah, that's pretty early for an expansion. Like what, 3 months after release? It makes me question the amount this "expansion" will have, and curious about how much they'd charge for it.
Of course, it's no never mind to me, as I won't be playing unless it gets ported to PC (as I'll be damned if I play a game at 30FPS in 2014).
What's an "expansion"? I doubt we are talking WoD here.
Thought of as a quarterly content drop - new missions, zones, maybe some higher level gear and it sounds right.
Which would suggest 2 further quarterly expansions (even higher gear) before Part 2 in 12 months time.
How big will each expansion be? They don't have to be the same size / price but they will have to sell. Which should go a long way to keeping them on their toes. 14 month content drought: no new money. Fluff and guild tabards: not much money.
I already pre-ordered the expansion bundle so its no skin off my back. And 3 months after launch is about normal for a console game to release something new.

That's exactly what I said was going to happen. The game is not out yet even and they are already announcing an expansion lol. We only buy part of a game these days and get sold the rest piece by piece over many months. We the consumers have allowed this by voting with our wallets showing we accept the practice. Oh well guess it's just the way it is now.....

When I read the thread title I couldn't work out how the release went by without me noticing.
As others have said it must be really low on content, it will be interesting to see how fast the locusts feed.
Lol, well I read someone at Bungie comment that there's so much content you might never finish everything. Max level is a different story, it's 20 levels, and you'll probably reach that in a day or two, I'd assume. Based on my understanding, their focus is on a social game, which probably means gear-based progression.
On the whole topic, I've really just gotta throw my hands up in the air and give a big, hearty "Whatever". Could we please, pretty please, have a 1.5 YEAR release cycle a la WoW? Oh, that'd be so much better! Damned if you do, damned if you don't, I guess. If you don't release content for a year, you're lazy, slow, and don't care about the game, so it's dying. If you release quarterly, you're low on content. You know, every other game in the Universe is offering Season Passes at launch now, but let's ignore that fact for a moment and concentrate on our trolling. gg.
This community is bloody toxic. I don't defend any game now on these forums. It is hilarious why you would even comment on a gain that you are certain is going to fail, yet even click on the article.
Not sure why people make such a big deal about this. $20 for new content in december is far cheaper than what you would pay if there were a $15 monthly sub.
Iselin: And the next person who says "but it's a business, they need to make money" can just go fuck yourself.
It's sad, but long gone are the days of games such as StarCraft 1 or Diablo 2, where for a single standerd price you'd get ages of entertainment, without being nickeled and dimed for content. Can't really do anything about it, because these are today's standards, created over time, supported with today's gamers' wallets. If people are willing to pay for something, there will always be someone trying to take their cash, by providing them with it.
