The game looks great and quality looks good. I understand the cost argument. If it was solely that I might give in and game on console. I just hate using a controller. The few times Ive tried playing with him Im just been frustrated using the controller. Maybe old dog new tricks sort of thing is at play here, don't know. I do know people on this forum often go back and forth between the two. Hopefully, I'll be able to stay with my keyboard and mouse and there will be enough games for me to play.
The "why spends thousands" argument is so incredibly outdated and false. I just helped a guy build a gaming rig for ~$800 that allows him to play all the current games on ultra settings without breaking a sweat. He'll even be set for the next few years considering how we get to enjoy game development being held back by consoles that utilize 4-5 year old tech.
Consoles are an utter waste of money, there is nothing a console can do that our PCs can't do better.
I spent over 3K on my rig. Unfortunately, I am not a tech person and have no idea how to put together a computer nor do I know anyone who can put together a computer. Im sure you can put together just a good rig as mine for half price if you did it yourself but if I tried it would only be good for making toast. So I do have to agree it is much more expensive for the average person without the knowledge to buy a gaming computer.

They are hardly a waste of money, lets not be dramatic here.
The one thing they do do better is that you can generally be assured of a pop and play experience, with a console. There is no farting around with settings and poor optimiztion of code like that crap that is going on with Wildstar. Even good rigs have trouble with that game, I hear. Coding a game for a single unified platform that puts all players on a level playing field makes a lot of sense.
You need to ditch your console bias because both have a place in gaming. If you don't like 'em, thats fine. Many people do and they give very good value for the money, thank you very much.
FFA Nonconsentual Full Loot PvP ...You know you want it!!
Destiny looks cool, but will probably hold my attention as long as any FPS would really, a month or two tops. That being said, if I am not playing anything better at that time I will give it a go.
Why post in the Archeage section though...are you saying that we should be hyped about the next big thing now? If anything Black Desert is the next game that has my attention and is more similar to Archeage than Destiny, which to me is completely different demographic.
People, calm your tits. I posted it by accident in this section. Thanks for being the 5th person to make it a point though.
You're welcome
Now Playing: Bless / Summoners War Looking forward to: Crowfall / Lost Ark / Black Desert Mobile
Destiny - launching with 4 maps. Yeah, each planet has a single playable map, very sneaky of Bungie to do that.
Oh, so you won't be playing it then? Good, I'll be glad to have less negative nancys in my games.
So quick to name call eh?
Earth has only old Russia as the playable area - fact.
Want to explore Western Europe? Americas? Asia or Africa? Australia?
Well you can't because of a single map per planet - why even call them planets? Oh because it sounds so much *bigger* than if they said - four tiny maps - one on each planet.
I am calling out Bungie on their deceptive marketing - because many will buy Destiny thinking they get entire planets to explore - nope.
Hub + small maps is what you get - test it out first before you spend the money thinking its an open world game.
Played the beta and had more fun than any game I have played in the last year, well worth the $100.

Mind sharing what components you got for that system? I am looking at upgrading my system and wondering what I should look at.

This.
PS4 is highly underated by the PC master race and believe me i have been in the master race for 20 years.
Especially when you unlock its potential with the Vita which is able to stream and control a lot of the games on the system.
XB1 however is a steaming pile of crap and i hope it dies a horrible death.

Who said it was an open world game? I could honestly care less if it is or not. If it's fun. Then i'll play it. Simple as that. As far as the name calling. It is more of an expression then name calling. Don't be so sensitive.
Regarding Destiny's world size i think i read somewhere that each planet's area will have the size of Halo: Reach's entire world. Can someone confirm this?
Also, on the official website there is no info about a PC port. So, hold your horses.

Originally posted by Rhoklaw The only smooth thing consoles have over PCs is perhaps loading time. Other than that, graphics are not better, latency is definitely not better and gameplay is limited by what, 11 buttons? Ya, no thanks.
I store my MMOs on my SSD which are fairly cheap these days. So, even the loading time positive goes out of the window.
When this game was first announced I thought "Great! Will check it out if it comes to PC." Of course, in true Bungie style, they said console only. Ok, fine...I will just skip it. Of course I have have kept up with it of the course of developement. But not that it is "supposedly" coming to PC I am like "so what". While it looks interesting, it really is just more of a Halo clone then a new IP. By that, I mean you are getting pretty much the same experience as Halo just new graphics and a few new abilties. It is not a truly open world game. In the end, it won't justify the hype. My opinion. At this point, I am much more excited to be seeing The Division then I am to seeing this game on PC.
Luckily I pre-ordered on Amazon, they gave me an alpha key and I was able to test the game in alpha and beta and found out its very boring and not worth my money, cancelled my pre-order and won't be bothered with it on PC either, game is just not fun for me.

Small maps? Like... how small? I thought this was an MMOFPS with a large-ish open world area, akin to Defiance?
Unfortunately its nothing like that. It has a main hub with merchants and from there you port to planets which each planet has a couple quest areas but it's not open world how your hoping. I know I was hoping for that but what I found during the betas was very disappointing and closed off. The gameplay is like halo but it has some items to acquire. Not that much though. Overall it's pretty disappointing. That's just for me though. Some other may like it but I know I didn't at all. It was just more of the same nothing all that spectacular.

“Again, no announcements, but it’s something that’s a heavy point of discussion..
Since when does that mean it's coming to pc?

Walked into the gamestore, asked if they had it already. They said no (( was shoping with wife and kid.
