Please help with ideas if you can

in LFGame

Looking for a survival type game with a fairly open world. Can be single player or mmo. PS3, wii, or pc (I already know there are not any out atm for ps4 or xbox one).

 

Do not really want Walking Dead type, and Fallout games are close but have played them way too much now.

Do not want a text based game either please.

Open world type setting would be great, scavenge for food and resources is good. Fighting zombies/mutations or whatnot is good too.

What is most important is the ability to explore and that you have to gather stuff to survive.

Games I have or am playing:

Last of Us

Fallout series

Walking Dead

Red Dead Redemption

Dead Nation (not a big fan of the gameplay)

Rage

Borderlands

pretty much all the shooter types on most consoles, as well as a  psn download that I can not think of the name off hand, was good but gamplay could be improved to me.

 

Thanks for any ideas, I am guessing there is not a lot out there not already on the list console wise. Looking into S.T.A.L.K.E.R. right now as well.

    Minecraft is really fun for survival, especially if you get some friends on a private server. If you don't like vanilla Minecraft theres a crapton of mods to change everything about the gameplay, even gun mods.

    7 days to die sounds like it might be for you take a look at it on steam. my wife and I play its solo or co-op

    Terraria and Starbound are pretty good if you don't mind them being side scroller.

    Thanks everyone, will take a look at the ones I haven't tried.

    Terarria wasn't my thing, but will look at the others.

    This looks really good. Think I will wait until after the alpha stage to see what it costs, etc. (lol spent too much getting Destiny and stuff for now!)
