Calm down, take a deep breath, take your time and take it in in small doses, and everything will be ok.
yes there are 120 ish, but only about 15 viable combinations fwiw

So, it seems you forgot the last bit...
Is it:
"I LOVE this !!!!"
or
"I HATE this !!!!"
?
Its true that only a small number of class are truly viable, but if you are good with combos the list of viable classes doubles, and if you mostly play with a parter you can make even more interesting combos.
Basically clicking away text windows ruins every MMO, try to have fun instead of rushing things. Without story and lore all there is left is a bunch of mechanics.

I saw a few nice builds...but i dont know...i loved to heal in other MMOs (AIon,WoW) i liked to be the "hard to kill" healer like Cleric in Aion with shield and club, but in AA healer doesnt look very attractive to me.

completely misleading.
AA has a skill tree combination (I think 4?) so there are something like 4 to the 4th power different combinations.
While some other games have no classes at all but a billizon skills you can level and you have access to all of them where in AA you would not.
there are 3 skillsets per char, and each one is a unique class with its own name.
this is a fun table
http://archeage.gamepedia.com/Classes#archery_table
I'd say 3 Viable
The way you build your character will have alot to do with how you enjoy playing the game. Initially you only get access to 4 o 5 classes. Those are fairly typical
Battlerage: gladiator style in your face tank
Sorcery: Nuker
Archery: ranged bow and arrow
Vitalism: Healer
Occultism: necromancer
Shadowplay: rogue
From there things get muddy fast I will admit. By level 10 you will have chosen 2 more class mixes. One thing I found interesting was looking at the class builders on various websites and reading the descriptions and effects of each skill and how other skills gain large bonuses when used in combination one after the other. This appears to be where your character can really shine if played right.
As far as armor..
Cloth armor is weak against physical damage but gives bonuses that stack for magic attack etc.
Leather and plate are as you would expect just with more armor and also stats directed towards other attributes.
Weapons...
You can have a bow, instrument and hand held weapons all equipped at the same time so the choices really come down to what will benefit your class choice.
Two hand weapons hit hard but are slower and have more crit chance.
single handers can be dual wielded or used with shield.
Staff and scepter are for magic users or healers and you can always swap out a weapon when you need stats from that weapon.
Also there is no limitation to switching class choices out so you can always try out different choices. Just be aware that you will have to level up the abilities within a class to catch up to your character level.
Na all 120 are viable, I have a perfect anti lock/cc build, not a single tier 1 class that can easely defeat it. (the 3 viable list, or 15 prime skill tree list)
Now that Hasla weapons will be locked (tier 1,2,3 not in game) and everyone will have basic gear even more builds will work well since CC locking and then doing a killer combo wont be possible any more ( a combination that kills a player while still CC'ed)
Heh this is actually interesting. Some of those classes look ripped right from DnD.
Brenics ~ Just to point out I do believe Chris Roberts is going down as the man who cheated backers and took down crowdfunding for gaming.
I used to think that too until I saw a guy make a viable 1v1 destroyer.
If you can make destroyer work, you can make anything work.
There are 120 viable classes. They just aren't all viable at everything. You gotta build them right and play them right. That is what matters most.
This is not a Hollywood movie. OP doesn't need to sell any message.

Not even half true.
Take few example where archer/occult/vit would be as good as battle/shadowp/defense for farming; it's true that some setups are excellent at PVP. But it's only due to the class combo that can lockup other people constantly, it doesn't make that combination more "viable". Another example would be the archetype of healer/supporter. While making a cleric may sound very effective at healing, I think sorrowsong can be more on the sustain side, whereas vit/song/witch may be even more on the PVP support/cc side.
The list goes on.
