Looking for an MMORPG without microtransactions

I'm currently in the market for a subscription based (not free to play) MMO where there are either no microtransactions, or all microtransactions are for cosmetic items. There should be no way to purchase anything of any use in it. Expansion packs are okay, but not desirable. I've already tried WoW, but I got bored of it after reaching maximum level. If possible, I would like the leveling process to be difficult and time consuming. PvP must be optional, I don't enjoy it much.

    Might as well play GW2, stuff in the shop doesn't really make you play any better, only able to really buy bag/character slots anyway. You can make gold to convert to gems(shop currency) so you honestly don't have to pay a cent after you buy the game. Edit: you can also try FFXIV. Only external thing you can buy in that game is appearance change potions and extra storage space npcs. Subscription based with no cash shop.
