Not sure by speed boat, but apparently it takes over 1 hour + (real time, not game time) to swim across it. That's also assuming you don't run into any sharks, jellyfish, or any other hazards along the way.
1 hour? ouch that's not very long. hmm was hoping it would take a while. would make the game more interesting having to trek a long time.
anyone remember daoc back before they had mounts? when like you had to buy a horse ticket from a town that was a 30 minute run to from the spawn you were at? and then even then, the towns were like outposts basically and even once you spent 30 minuets running to the town, taking the horse took a while to get the next shack/little outpost. not even counting the capital city haha. so it kind of sucks the ocean is so short in terms of distance.
I really like it when thing are isolated, because people band together and build cool communities. eh well, ill still play of course hehehe.

I dont know how much minuts it takes to cross ocean but it looks big for me, special because its a free pvp zone, every minute there seems a eternity when i cross it with a trade pack and want to avoid pvp.
Note: and i love that danger feeling, even more when ends well to my side
Originally posted by cylon8 swimming took me 1hr 37 minutes i was interrupted by hazards n pirates. its big enough to feel massive and fun thats all that matters
And it looks great too judging by those screenshots!
How deep is it though? Did you do a lot of underwater exploring?

I heard that, it's very intriguing.
See the world and all within it.
Live a lifetime in every minute.
